Well... my son and DIL just announced to the world that Baby #2 is on the way. They waited quite a while to make it public, because they have lost babies, but now everything looks pretty good. If DIL had to go into the hospital she'd be missing Baby #1, their two-year-old, the way you're missing your almost-two-year-old.
But, again, be thankful that your girl's receiving loving care while you're there. Not every baby has that privilege. You didn't want to be apart from her, but you're getting good care, you're off pain meds, the yucky head and stomach are being nicer to you, and you know some of the things you DON'T have.
I hope you'll be on the receiving end of some good care once you get home, too. It doesn't sound as if you can just bounce back once you're through your front door.
You're being a good mama for suffering on your own so that your little one won't suffer with - whatever it is.
If I lived in your neighborhood I'd be bringing you books! I don't know what Kindle has. Can you call somebody to bring you some real books? Last time I was hospitalized (with a fracture), I had books at home that I was working my way through, but for the hospital I wanted nothing but fluff! And my children came up with some for me - kids' books and very old British mysteries. It gave my brain a little vacation from the medical setting for a while.
Praying for you, yes!
