Have you thought about some of the local schools and pediatricians offices? You probably just need to aske permission to advertise, but those are the two places that would make the most sense to me.
Hi mamas - My husband and I are starting a tutoring business and I am wondering if anyone had any ideas about the best places to advertise? We made some flyers and business cards... we just aren't really sure what the best way to distribute them would be. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!! :)

Hi Robyn,
I would suggest the Inland Empire Family Magazine. Also, good places to start would be the Pennysaver and Craigslist, because they're free. You may want to post them at your local recreation center, give some to your local daycare providers. Since school is out, I don't know how you'll get the word out, but ask friends and family to spread the word for you by asking them to distribute flyers and business cards.
FAMILY magazine is a great place to advertise. Maybe even the PennySaver?
As for your business cards and flyers, maybe in your local schools? Or stores in and around them. Karate studio, dance studios, mailboxes?
Good luck to you!

Hi Robyn!
Here's what's working for me as a Mary Kay independent beauty consultant and healthy chocolate distributor:
*local chamber of commerce membership (they hold monthly lunches and mixers; they hold ribbon-cuttings for new businesses and put their stories in the monthly newsletter and newspaper.
*take your business cards and brochures around town (coffee shops, hair salons, oil-change businesses--anywhere that has space for such items such as a counter or cork board; I also suggest that you buy clear plastic biz card holders and/or brochure holders.)
*list your biz for free here at mamasource and create your own myspace page and web site.
I haven't done this but maybe you could partner up with a day care provider and offer deals to their clients. This would be the perfect time because children are out of school yet parents want them to retain what they've learned and/or get up to speed during the summer. Good luck!
