I am bringing a special snack tomorrow for school. I was just going to bring something home made (cookies or rice crispy treats) but then I remembered it is April Fools day and so I thought it might be fun to bring something funny. I googled it but most of the ideas are candy related and I don't want to bring candy. Also it needs to be nut free and egg free. Does anyone have any funny April fools food ideas???

What can I do next?

How about Dirt Cake? I had this a long, long time ago But you could serve it in clear plastic cups and put a gummy worm in it! So, the kids can say they ate dirt and worms at school!!! This would be fun, easy for you and not too too unhealthy. Super cute and you can see pictures on line if you look up Dirt Cake

Here are the directions and no eggs!

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
3 1/2 cups milk
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
32 ounces chocolate sandwich cookies with creme filling
Directions
1.Chop cookies very fine in food processor. The white cream will disappear.
2.Mix butter, cream cheese, and sugar in bowl.
3.In a large bowl mix milk, pudding and whipped topping together.
4.Combine pudding mixture and cream mixture together.
5.Layer in flower pot, starting with cookies then cream mixture. Repeat layers.
6.Chill until ready to serve.
7.Add artificial flower and trowel. Enjoy!

I don't have an egg-free cake recipe although I do know they exist. Bake a shallow cake (may need to bake a few since they are shallow). Cut them into thin strips (to look like french fries). Purchase or make red icing (too look like Ketchup) and place in small cups (for dipping).

It will look like you have brought french fries but it will be cake w/ icing instead (what a sweet surprise).

Get a chocolate sheet cake at the bakery and buy one of those fake dog poops at one of the novelty stores and have it on top of the cake.
There is also a treat that you can make called a cat litter cake, they are hilarious and the kids would probably get a kick out of that. It does require a cat litter tray to put it in. Here's the link to the cat litter cake.
