Can anyone out there help me find a good skin care line. I am tempted to try Meaningful Beauty, but I would like some advices on products other moms have used. I am 36 and I have normal to dry skin which is very dry right now and I would like something to shrink my pores and maybe get rid of some spots. If anyone can help I would so appreciate it. Thanks
I haven't read all the responses but I did see Sally's and I basically want to say the same thing. Try Mary Kay ~ I am not a consultant but I've used their products for years (tried a coupe of other things along the way ~ more expensive ~ and always come back). Go online to find a consultant and have her come to you and do a facial. It's "no risk" and I promise you won't be sorry!! Good luck!

My dermatologist recommends Obagi products. The results are amazing!
You can't use them while pregnant or trying to get pregnant. You really should consult a doctor before using anything at those times anyway. Retanoids and other antiaging products have not been tested enough for use went pregnant.

Hi Sally
My name is E. Turner and I sell Avon. They have a wonderful product line called ANEW. They actually have a 4-piece starter kit on sale that I think you would be interested in or you can try the ANEW line separately. The 2 in 1 Gel Cleanser and Revitalizing Cream (day and night) is great You can take a look at my store at www.youravon.com/erickaturner and/or call me at ###-###-#### for any further assistance.
Thanks

I use Paula's Choice. She is the author of the book, Don't go to the Cosmetics Counter without me. I got this book from the library and it rates all the skin care products. She has really great advice and tells you what the best products are at any price. Her website has useful info on what products you need for your skin type. SO I use some drugstore brands and some beta hydroxy acid and moisturizer from Paula. Her website is cosmeticscop.com. I originally saw her on the Today show and Oprah and have saved tons of money over the years. I was using CInique with poor results before I read her book.

I can teach you about the proper formula for your skin type and you can use my Mary Kay products to target your issues. As I teach you about skin care I'll show you why your pores need shrinking and how your daily routine can target spots, or how you can target spots more aggressively if you so choose. The best part is that the products are 100% satisfaction guaranteed so you never will have a drawer full of buying mistakes.

It's funny you posted this...I've been thinking about trying Meaningful Beauty as well...actually I've been tossing around the meaningful beauty and Paula's Choice. I saw someone else posted that they use Paula's choice. Yes, I have bought both of Paula's books and I really like them...I refer to one of them frequently. Thing I liked most about her book is that she doesn't push her own line...she's matter of fact, rates all the lines out there for skincare and make-up and is pretty good about stating why she does and doesn't like a product...it's makes it more reason based then opinion...I think anyways. Check out her website cosmeticcop.com and see what you think. If you do end up trying the meaningful beauty line send me a message and let me know how you like it. I'm still undecided on who to try...cindy crawford's line or Paula's line???

Oh my goodness I am in love with Oil of Olay for all of these reasons!! Specifically the 7 in 1 Anti-aging daily moisturizer! It hydrates my skin, shrinks my pores (the number one reason I loved it-and I noticed it after the FIRST use!) Hope this helps!

I am currently using Aveda All Sensitive Cleanser, Toner and Moisturizer on my face and I love it. I’ve used it for 10 years now. It’s great because I can slap on some lotion in the middle of the day if I need to, and it is never oily or greasy.
I am slowly “switching stores” and converting everything to Melaleuca. Melaleuca produces over 400 non toxic products that are safe for your home, health and the environment and will pay you to shop there and to refer customers. Check out www.melaleuca.com and let me know if you have any questions. I have been very happy with everything I’ve tried from Melaleuca, I just haven’t been able to part with my Aveda products yet (plus I purchased them in bulk and probably have a years supply left!).

Your skin is dry and dehydrated. You have to use anti-aging and hydrating skin care products. Especially for this season of the year. I myself use Janssen Skin care products. They are made in Germany. I love them because the ingredients really work: pharmaceutical grade. Janssen has anti-aging line with pearls, caviar and magnolia, kambuchka - the latest ingredients in the skin industry. You can get them at professional salons.

I like Origins because their products are all natural with no parabens, which are cancer causing. I was using Aveda sensitive and loved that too until I found out it has 3 different parabens listed on the label!
Whatever line you go with, check the label and make sure it's not loaded with cancer-causing chemicals.
Good luck!

I had skin very similar to yours, and it cleared it up, made it super soft, and just... more even/pretty. The microdermabrasion set is soooo good to help with pores too. I can mail you a pack of samples or meet up if you'd like to try it! Aboslutely NO pressure to buy... promise :)

The skin on my face used to be dry and tight , I cannot afford to use expensive creams , lotions & potions so I started using Nuetrogena face cleanser to wash my face with , and then after I use cetephil daily facial moisturiser , both items under $10 and can be bought in the grocery store or CVS , Walgreens , Target etc. My skin is so much better , sometimes it's worth giving the cheaper stuff a try!

Hello Sally, I have been using This amazing skin care system 4 yrs now ans I dont intend to change. Just remember there are many skin treatments out there which you can use but most of all you have to feel comfortable and satisfied with the product you use. A good facial cleanser toner with exfoliating agentes is recomended. You will need protection from the pollution in the air and the suns rays. Dont forget the moisturiser. It is recommended to cleanse twice a day in the morning and at night for best results. The Skin Care system I use the the Miricle Set by Mary Kay.I include the Microdermabration Set whith it for my pores. I would like to add that this system infuses Vitamins into your skin to enhance is natural Beauty. It is even good on your elbows and Feet. SHHHH.... I Love it so much I became a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. Remember your skin care system should make you feel Refreshed, Rejuvinated and Remarkable all at 1 time. Thats my Slogan. LOL I would love to give you a free Facial and Skin Care Trial Free of Charge. You can contact me at ____@____.com or call me @ ###-###-####. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. Alejandra Campos

I buy my skincare products from an individual in Missouri that has an on-line shop. She makes all of her soaps, masks, astringents, and lotions in her shops using organic ingredients. You can email her from her shop and tell her what you are looking to do and she is AWESOME at recommending what will work for you. She can even mix up a custom blend for you! Another plus is she will sell you sample packs so you can try it before buying a full size amount. Right now I am using a delectable combination of Bergomont/Rose Clay soap, Lavender/Chamomile toner, and a Rose/Oatmeal/Honey mask.
I have read that liquid vit c can shrink pores. Ive never tried it though. Magnesium oil is suppose to help wrinkles.

Go to www.DHCcare.com and see the products they have. I've used them for several years and love it. I'm not young, either, so I need extra help. You can also talk to them by calling their 800 number. 1-800-342-2273.
They give discounts for return customers, so my products don't cost as much as the catalog quotes. They also give free samples of your choice with each order.

I have been using Mary Kay since I was 15. It is all that has ever touched my face so I decided to sell it to get my product at 1/2 price. It has turned into quite a business for me and I have been selling for almost 10 years. I'm more than happy to send you samples of anything we carry for you to try in your home risk-free. I offer 20% off all first orders and offer free shipping anywhere in the United States, as well. People honestly think I'm in my 20s and I'm almost 40 years old! Our anti-aging products are truly WONDERFUL! Good luck to you and God bless!

I'm not a consultant so I have nothing to sell but I do have very dry skin, I use Mary Kay, and I especially love the new "face lift in a bottle" product, you will notice brighter skin the next day, Prices are reasonable and most MK ladies will come to you when ever you need something. If you don't have a MK lady My SIL sells it, or you can go online and find one probably in your neighborhood. I recommend going through their facial with the consultant so you can get the products that best suit your needs. but you can't beat the "face lift in a bottle" not mater what else you use!

Hi Sally,
I have been a Shaklee distributor for 15 years. About 11 years ago they introduced a new line called Enfuselle. Before that I really didn't use anything and my skin was starting to look really bad--blotches, blemishes, and wrinkles. I have fair skin but love waterskiing, so there was sun and wind damage.
To give it a good test, I took a before picture and only used the products on one side of my face. If I had not had that picture, I wouldn't have believed my eyes three days later. I could count the number of wrinkles gone in the crow's feet area. And soon the blothes and blemishes were gone.
People often comment on how great my skin looks and are shocked if they find out how old I am.
There are 8 patents on this line. The makeup, Minerelles, is so good for your skin you can sleep in it. You can check them out at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for asking!
