I agree with janie b. The take and toss sippy cups are very good for breastfed babies. If she doesn't like that, you can try the Nuby brand sippy cup that is more like a bottle. That same brand also has the sippy cups with the straw. Its all trial and error.

I give my 10 month old the Nubby brand sippy cups and she likes to chew on them. It also took her months to get the hang of it, so don't get frustrated. I just kept giving her a cup with water at every dinner meal and she eventually figured it out.

My DD is 11 months and still breastfeeding. I started her on a sippy around 6 months along with her solids. Originally, I started her on the ones with the silicone spout. She didn't seem to take to that too well, so I tried the kind with the silicone straw. She loved that one, but it took her a while to figure out how to use it. I tried her again on the silicone spout, and she decided that she liked it after all. THEN she figured out how to pinch the spout to 'milk' out her water... so now she uses the kind with a hard plastic spout. I did have to bribe her with diluted apple juice. (She really likes it, and I only gave it to her when she was constipated, so it was really a treat for her.) If it's something she REALLY likes, she will figure out how to get it out!!! lol.

My daughter breastfed for a year and never liked bottles. The only thing she would take at a year were take and toss sippy cups by learning curve and I tried every brand. They are easier to drink from than the kind that have a valve in them. She didn't like any of those. I also had to warm the milk for her when weaning. My son, however, liked My Breast Flow bottles for milk when he was weaning at one adn take and toss cups for water.

Same as Red, we introduced the sippy around 6 mo, DD didn't really pick-up on it until 8mo. So far we have had great luck with Munchkin Mighty Grip 8oz/10oz and now that DD is 18 mo her fav is the the Munchkin Mighty Grip Straw Cup. We also use Nuby sippy cups and I find they leak much less than the Munchkin. Both can be found at Walmart, Target or Babies R Us.
