Hi Moms! I am looking for suggestions for a single compact stroller. I do not want a $19 umbrella stroller (have one), but I'm not so sure I want to spend $300 on a McLaren. What is a good in between stroller? Maybe around $100. We will be taking it on a plane--that's why I want a compact one. My son is 5 years old and 30lbs. (He still needs a stroller now and then because he has a bad heart and walking long distances is difficult). Thank You!

What can I do next?

I have traveled all over the world with a baby in tow, and you can't beat a Maclaren Volo. It is super light weight and is great for going anywhere! I know you expressed concerns about the price, but I didn't think the Volos were $300. Have you tried looking on Craigslist to see if anyone has one to sell? I got mine at BRU on a model close out. Best of luck!

I had a Combi Flare with my 3rd son- loved it. It was around $70-80. I bought a Chicco Liteway a few months ago for my 9 mos old daughter. It was originally $139 at Target, I paid $69 on clearance. Both have high weight limits (forget exact amount, but I know it was over 40 for both). I really like both of them- my favorite is that both of them are relatively tall. I am 5'9", so I hate short strollers because I feel like I am hunched over when pushing them. The Combi is a little lighter weight and both of them have good size baskets underneath.

We have the Maclaren Volo - it goes up to 55 lbs and about $130 depending on where you order it from. I've had the bigger version and loved it. The thing about Maclarens is they last a long time. We took evening walks with our bigger version for two years and have donated it to a family member who is expecting. I used the Volo for trips as it's their compact version.

McLaren Triumph. I bought mine on Ebay and it was still in the box - about $139. Love it.
