Since he's 10 months, his little feet are probably still too chunky to get in them. Cherish those chunky feet - they don't stay that way forever!
Hi ladies!!!
I got s coupkle pair of beautiful Dr. Seuss Converse's for my son who is 10 months and already running!!!
The problem is, i can not get to them on his feet....did any of you had this problem?
First i got a pair of high tops and I thought that was the problem, but now is just with regular converses....and i know is the right sive because they are even bigger than hes regular shoes!
Any suggestions? I really want him to wear them, and mostly because hes birthday is going to be dr seuss and i want him to be able to walk with them
Thanks!
Thanks for your answers!
Thats exactly what i Thought....Im pretty sad about this!!! =) They look so cool!!!
And YES they are Converse, you can get them at converse.com they had plenty of models to choose from!
It makes me sad that that because my son is an early walker someone tells me I should put gym to crawl, he began to crawl before he was 5 months old and then he crawlsmuntil 9 months when he began to walk......trust me my son won't have any trouble because of this at school...and he's got those ugly stride rite shoes, if you have ever got a converse you will see they are expensive....this was not a money issue....if you have nothing good to say don't say anything.

His feet are probably too wide for converse. Go to Stride Rite for first walkers.
Is he curling his toes? My kids would do that and it made it almost impossible to get their shoes on.
First of all, a 10 month old child needs to be crawling, not walking. Make him crawl more so his brain will be ready to learn later on in school. He still has primary reflex patterns to be integrated. Secondly, Converse have no arch support, They are the worst kind of shoe to be putting on any child with a developing foot. Children are flat footed and they need an arch. Go to Stride Rite and pay for a good pair of shoes even though he will quickly grow out of them you can prevent problems at the podiatrist later.
It's those chunky baby feet! Mine wore Skidders until about 13 months, then finally wore velcro tennis shoes.
Does he have wide feet? I had a hell of a time finding shoes to fit my son when he started running. When I asked my mom, she suggested I try for a wider shoe, so I went to payless and got a toddler specifically marked 'wide'. They fit him perfectly and he has been 'wide' shoes ever since.
I love Umi's for that age because they go on and stay on (and take a beating really well).
My little guy was an early walker too, and I had to stay away from regular shoes until his fat little feet looked more like real feet! :)
My grand daughter has wide and high "Fred Flintstone" feet and I have to find shoes that open up really far down the tongue to get her foot in. And some of the cutest sandals will go on her foot but the velcro won't even overlap to fasten so we can't do them either. You just have to try them on and find the right style. I find a lot at Kmart.
My kids are older and we have bought converse at target they have some really cute ones the problem is THEY ARE REALLY HARD TO GET ON! Why? I really don't know =( I think its a combination of chunky baby feet and the brand...
Sounds like they are either too narrow, or that his instep is too high for the shoes. Shoes that are plenty long enough may still be too narrow or the instep is too shallow for a stubby, chunky baby foot! My son was like that... he needed wide shoes when he was a baby to accommodate his chunky foot. As he's grown, his feet have thinned out as they lengthened, so now he doesn't always need a wide shoe.
BTW, where did you get his shoes? Are they actual Converse brand? My son would LOVE those!
He may have a really high instep - and if that's the case you have to buy him wide or extra wide shoes. I was lucky to have a Stride Rite outlet store about a half hour from my house when my son was young. I'd ask the store manager when the new stock was due to arrive and I'd plan my outlet shopping around my son's shoe needs. I needed extra wide for him which were not available in regular shoes in the shoe stores or sporting good stores - and they cost a fortune. So I would buy whatever sneaker and shoe they had in extra-wide in his size, and also the next size up.
Take your son to an old fashioned shoe store if you can find one and have an older man fit yoru son's foot. If he's an extra wide you're going to have a tough time finding cool shoes for him unless you find them online I guess.
I could never get converse on my daughters' feet. It sucked because they were so cute.
