i truthfully can't remember all the reasons(could have told you ALL about it a year ago lol), i had mine done a little over a year ago, and after MUCH research, i went with the silicone gel implants.
I am getting my implants redone soon (they are 10 yrs old). I have saline, but am considering switching to silicone. It does make me a little nervous due to all negative press in past. If you have silicone, have you had any issues? If you've had both, which is better?

I had silicone implants put in in Dec., so can't complain of problems yet, but they had a cut one and when it was squeezed, it just bulged. It won't leak because it is a "solid" gel and keeps it's shape. They feel natural to me, I wouldn't do it any other way. Good luck!
I don't have my implants yet, but I am going with the Allergan 410 cohesive gel "gummy bear" implants. I had to join a clinical trial since they are not FDA approved yet. They are approved and widely used in Europe, Brazil, and other places overseas.
It sounds like a different situation, but I choose them for their natural shape. I had a double mastectomy so I was hoping their molded shape would be more natural for my reconstruction.
Good luck in your decision.
Dont have any myself, but if I could I would totally go silicone. If I were to go through the pain and the trouble of getting I would take those low risks for a much better look and feel.
The new silicone is supposed to be much better than the silicone in the past. I got saline (my doctor said the silicone made her to nervous) that was 4 years ago. The new silicone is supposed to be more natural feeling. However, I know that if silicone busts it's not good in your system. My mom has had many many problems from her silicone implants. Good luck with which ever you decide.
