Anyone know of a great product or mixture to help clean soap scum and hard water off of the tile and glass doors of a shower? Something easy that doesnt require lots of scrubbing, have little time for that =0)

What can I do next?

Method from target. We have been using the spray that you use after you get out of the shower, I have not scrubbed my shower in about a year. Enviro-safe and smells great. When we run out I have the method shower cleaner and after a few baths the kids leave a soap ring so I spray it on before I get in the shower let it sit for a minute and get in, I use a wash cloth to give it a quick wipe down. Vinegar will work the same way but the method smells better:)

I use to have someone clean the house once a month and she had us buy Kaboom--it was her fave--now that I am SAHM, I do the cleaning and the Kaboom works really well.

Kaboom! Purple spray bottle with green trigger. I have bought it at Target and Jewel and it is the only thing that works on my shower.
Spray it on, wait 3 minutes and you can literally wipe it off with a regular sponge. It does not smell horribly toxic either.
I live in Bartlett, and we have the most rediculously hard water. My glass shower looks dirty after 2 showers :(

Hi, I found that using the dryer sheets that you use in the dryer are the best and remove the soap scum off shower doors quickly and easily. If shower doors are damp thats OK as well. If not, get eh sryer sheet a little wet and then wipe down the doors.

A steamer! We try to keep a green house and found that the steamer cleans almost everything with little or no effort. It takes the soap scum off and mold and mildew without any chemicals. Just steam and wipe. There are severa on the market, but we used the shark. Good luck, M.

KABOOM! It works wonderful. Just spray it on,leave it for about 2-3 minutes and then scrub it off. Its works the best and you have tons of time for other things. What I usually do is clean the toilet, sink and then the tub. Its enough time and then BOOM i'm done. You can get it at Wal-Mart or Target its in a purple bottle.

Try the Scrubbing Bubbles product--comes in a box and you can get it a Jewel. Don't just by the stuff in a spray can. This is an automated sprayer that you set up and it sprays your whole shower to get rid of soap scum and mold.

We have a well & septic, and very very hard water. I have been using Target's Method shower cleaner. After a shower, while everything is still wet, you spray it on. It says on the packaging that if the shower is very dirty it may take a few weeks to get the build up removed. When I keep up with it, it works great, and is sparkly.

Also, not sure what kind of material your shower is, but you might give it a good clean, and then polish it with car wax (turtle wax).
Just make sure it's safe for your shower walls first.

If you have a glass door, you might try rubbing on some rain-x so it repels water. I have heard this works, but haven't tried the rain-x myself.

Best of luck! Hope you find something that works. I've been using vinegar to clean my toilets, I just might give it a try in the shower now too. And the lemon.

thanks!

Hi J.,

I use a product called Tub & Tile, it's environmentally safe, (safe to use around children also). I get it through a wholesale shopping club I belong to. In fact, I get all my household and personal care products through this wholesale shopping club and they are all non-caustic. I would be happy to give you the details. Please feel free to call me at ###-###-####. I live in Oak Park, IL.

Sincerely,

I swear by a combo of CLR and Comet. What I do is pick a day that I will be out or before I go to work. Water down the shower (so the comet can stick to something), throw comet all around the shower and spray the whole shower with CLR. When you get back all you have to do is throw some water to the shower and scrub down (get a good scrub brush). You barely have to scrub becuase the comet and CLR did a lot of the cleaning for you. It can smell the bathroom up so leave the fan on (that's why I leave the house). My shower comes out sparkling clean and the tub is WHITE and looks brand N.. TIP: I use gloves when cleaning and applying the CLR. It's strong stuff.

Vinegar works great. Spray is on and then scrub it off. Doesn't require much scrubbing and it gets rid of hard water.

Hi! Try cutting a lemon in half and rubbing it all over the shower doors first. It does an amazing job of breaking down all of that hard water build-up. Then wipe it down with a wet cloth.
