My DD wasn't into the cereal... until I added a tablespoon of apple juice to her oatmeal! Then she went crazy for it. :) (I only give her 1 oz water with the juice, and mix the cereal to the consistency I want...)
My little girl is 6 months old and we started rice cereal around 5 months. I am still trying just one time a day with rice cereal and a fruit or veggie. She has still never really liked any of it. I have to trick her by making her laugh or giving her something she will put in her mouth, when she opens i put the solids in. She mostly spits it right back out. If she wanted it she would be opening on her own, right? I mean, isin't this supposed to be fun and enjoyable for both of us? If she doesn't open then i'm guessing she isn't in to it. My first lo never really liked it either. Except for cheese, yogurt and bananas and then we ended up with a big constipation problem that to this day she gets flaxseed! Can i give her those bitter biscuits even if she hasn't been through all the fruits and veggies to rule out allergies? I followed ALL the rules and my toddler still ended up with food allergies. I just wonder if i can offer the baby whatever i am eating if she opens for that, mushed up of course. Or should i just get through every food for the 3 days to a week before i relax with what i try?

Rice just gums up their intestines, little ones can't process rice it clogs up their intestines, things with flour are no better either.
Start with Egg yokes from Chickens on Pasture.
Here are some great guidelines you should check out...

You should try baby-led weaning. It is basically skipping purees and going straight to "real" food. My 10-month-old eats everything we do (he had chili last night!). We followed all the rules with our 6-year-old and he only eats about five things now. We're hoping our baby will be much more adventurous!

Some kids just don't like baby food. I thought my daughter would love solids because she was very interested in our food even as a tiny baby. She loved to watch us eat. When we tried to start her on rice cereal at 6 months she hated it - looked at us as if we had tried to poison her. She would actually put her hands in front of her mouth. We stopped for a week or so and tried again - same response. So, we tried other baby food - fruits, veggies, etc. Her response was much the same with these. After a few months of struggling to get her to eat a just a little, I finally decided to try some small finger foods that she could feed herself. She loved it. She is now almost 17 months old and eats almost anything but still doesn't like anything that is too mushy or being fed by someone and isn't very interested in using a spoon herself. She is almost the exact opposite of my son. He loved solids once he was ready. As for is it fun, even with my son, it wasn't at first. It was kind of tedious, after a couple of months it got fun. With my daughter, it was really stressful until we switched to finger foods. I still wouldn't say it is fun most of the time, but it can be hilarious at times.
well because you are starting her on solids its normal for a baby to spit them out at first so try it again on another day all you can do is try... she will soon understand that she likes it and then she will eat fruits and veggies fine... they were fun for me with my son who is now 10 months old he was a bugger he decided he wanted his fruits and veggies from a can instead of the baby jar so i did what the doc told me to i blended up the fruits and veggies from a can i put them in a processor and he ate his fruits and veggies that way
They say that if she is not into it then she is not ready. I started my lo at 5 months and it didn't take her long to get into it. Maytbe take a break for a week or so and try again. Are you buying your baby food? If so maybe try a different brand or try making your own. Have you tried oatmeal cereal yet? MIne loves it.
If she's spitting it out, it means that her tongue thrust likely isn't gone yet, and it's instinct to get foreign bodies out of her mouth. The MINIMUM age to start solids is 6 months, but if you have to "trick her" and she spits it out, it's obvious that she isn't ready. I'd give her a break for a couple of weeks and try again. When they're ready, they don't spit it out. Follow your baby's cues. For the first year solids are just practice anyway, so there's no need to push her.
My son didn't like cereal until my mom made it "too thick" one day. He ate it like it was candy and then it got easier. He then went to wheat cereal with applesauce and on, but hated the 3rd stage foods and anything "meat" in the babyfood area -- we just went to soft table foods. I would try wheat cereal or jump into the fruits before getting to bitter biscuits -- not sure if they have eggs or other "allergy" ingredients.
Good luck experimenting, mad scientist Mama:)
I wouldnt worry about it too much, or try to force her to eat. I know a baby that reallly wasnt into soilds that much until about 8 months.
