I still use baby shampoo on my little girl but her hair has been looking kinda greasy like. So what kind of shampoo is good? And also when should I start using conditioner on her.. my mother said she didn't use conditioner til 5 or 6...?

What can I do next?

We use a Suave 2 in 1 shampoo. My daughter is 3 1/2 and she needs a little conditioner or her hair becomes a rats nest, or if you put too much conditioner in it. Basically anything but the exact right combination will result in a rats nest. :) The 2 in 1 is perfect and strawberry scented!

We used to get the Suave 2 in 1 shampoo. It has a built in conditioner. Now that my kids are 5 & 8 they both use what I use which is also Suave and a separate conditioner.
We've also use the detangler spray for my daughter's hair to make it easy to brush out the tangles.

We still use California Baby products and they have a conditioner for babies too. They are all natural and tear free so all their products are safe for babies and children.

I've used California Baby brand tearless (the one with tea tree and lavendar), and I love it. It is supposed to be for all ages, not just babies. It's sold at Target, but I haven't seen the tea tree lavendar variety in awhile. I love that kind because of the fabulous smell and the added benefit of repelling lice (which she's never had...I'm just paranoid about it). It's a bit more expensive, but it lasts a very long time (concentrated)

I've also used the Sprouts brand tearless shampoo and conditioner from the hair salon, and I love that as well. It's pricey but lasts forever. There is also a kid's shampoo line called "tearless" that is sold at salons and beauty product places like Ulta. I use their swimmer's clarifying shampoo on my daughter every few weeks.

There's also a "Cheer" brand of kids shampoos which seems to be a good shampoo with a great smell, but unfortunately, it is NOT tearless

I used Loreal Kids shampoo. Its tear free. I know use Suave kids and its shampoo, conditioner and body wash all in one or you can just get the shampoo.

I've been using the same shampoo as the rest of the family since she was less than a year old. Allergies made it hard to use anything else.
We use a shampoo from Trader Joes that's a citrus scent that is lovely.
I still don't use conditioner in her hair and she's about to turn 3. She has wavy, fine hair. I let it air dry as much as possible and most of the tangles fall out on their own. I use a wide tooth comb when I need to do something to it while it's wet to get it out of her eyes if we don't have time to wait for it to air dry.
My boys have needed conditioner since they were 3 or 4 maybe. Go figure, it's the boys with shorter hair that needed the conditioner LOL
I think it depends on hair type etc.

I like the Suave kids products. They are really inexpensive and pretty good quality. I find that the "free/clear" ones are better, especially in the soaps. The clear soap seems to work better to me than the colored ones, which are kinda gloppy and hard to spread around, but I have used both, especially if the kids are helping me to pick it out and want a color! Once I switched my daughter to "real" shampoo I also added the conditioner and I noticed a huge difference from the baby soaps. She was about 2.5 I think. I think I started using it on my son when he was about a year old. They share a tub, so it's just easier! I just bought some Avon kids products that we are going to use for our camping trip this weekend, so I can't weigh in anything except they smell really good and also very reasonably priced!

Suave also makes a kid's after swimming shampoo and I really like it. We keep it in our pool bag and take a shower after each trip to the pool and it works great!

I also use the Suave detangler as my kids hair is pretty curly and it also is also very effective! Plus, you can usually find coupons in the Sunday paper for their stuff!

I use the Yes to Carrots shampoo for kids, and it makes it easy to comb out without conditioner. In the morning, I wet her hair and use a leave-in conditioner to get through the knots. Her curly hair used to give me so many tangle problems, even with conditioner, but these products work wonders!

We just started using Lice Shield about a month ago and my kids all like it. It contains tea tree oil which repels lice, but it also seems to give just the right amount of conditioning for my kids' hair. We all like the smell of it. And it is a comfort to me with my 3 yr old in day care and the other two in elementary school.

I use Kid's shampoo on my 3 year old, right now it's Toy Story, which I think is Loreal. I also use conditioner on her hair and have been for a year. Not the combination either, she needs separate conditioner because her hair gets so knotty. I use adult conditioner so I only put it on he back of her hair and ends so I avoid getting it near her eyes.

Normal shampoo. She is old enough to use normal shampoo and conditioner. I had the kids standing in the tub using the hand held shower. With her hair wet I had her scrub her head so that her fingers and nails would get that extra cleaning. I had the kids looking up the whole time so that the suds will not go in their face. They looked up while I rinsed their hair with the shower head. I also got them used to having a bit of water go in their face. That way they become less likely to freak out if some gets on their face or cheeks.

I use Suave free and clear kids shampoo on our 3-year old daughter's very fine hair. It gets washed every other night. Once a week we use Suave kid's conditioner to help it stay soft. We never have any problems with tangles.

Both of my girls have always had super thick hair, so baby shampoos never really did a great job on their hair. If the texture of her hair is anything like yours, then just use your shampoo and conditioner on her. If it works for you, it will work for her! Just have her hold a washcloth over her face when you rinse her hair so it doesn't get in her eyes.
