I am looking for a high quality, educational daycare where my 1 year old son can be actively engaged in learning activities not just playtime. I am willing to pay up to $1200 a month. I moved here from Austin and we had several such as Stepping Stone but I can't seem to find any here. I am not interested in home daycare. Does anyone know of any such daycares in SA?

I have worked in the daycare bussiness in San Antonion for 7 years and went to collage and got my degree in Early Childhood development and work as a director. I dont blame you there are so many centers out there that are horrible. I dont know why parents even feel safe by looking at the place. I love SA but there are some very trashy center at there and it was so bad that when became a mother I stayed home. Primrose is very good, Protage. I would go onto the web and find a NEYEC center. That is accredited and they meet higher standards and such a better teaching, lower ratio's. Other center your going to get high ratio's and center honestly full of it. Lie's!! Just stick to NEYEC centers. Good Luck!

Check out San Antonio Kids Directory, they have a lot of Accredited centers advertising in their magazine. You can pick up that magazine at most Jim's Restaurants. Any center who is accredited will have a great curriculum and follow higher standards.
Try country home...I'm not sure how close is a location by you..my daughter goes there and I am very pleased. They work on projects, alphabets numbers and computer and there is also a nice play area.
Also I have heard good reviews from Castle Hill Baptist Church
