I take the kids to the dollar store and let them pick out a few things for daddy. They love getting to pick some things out all on their own.
Hello Mommies out there! :) I know it's awful late (with Christmas being next week), but I'm wondering if you could share any of your favorite "From the Children" gifts your kids have given your spouses over the years. Anything homemade/purchased/whatever that Daddies would just love.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts and help!

As a daddy myself, it really doesn't matter what it is, he will act like it is the best present in the world when he unwraps it in front of his daughter! Just a small, practical, inexpensive item works...like I say, he will act like it is the best gift ever. Something like her picture in a nice frame, or a clock, or something he will place on his desk or dresser and he can remind her from time to time he still uses and loves her present. I'm 43 now and my dad still has a watch holder on his dresser that I gave him when I was a little boy. I have a picture my son drew for me and his mom put it in a frame...it's still on display 4 years later and he sees that I still enjoy his gift. Hope this helps...coming from a dad.
When my daughter was 3, I made him a collage of pictures of the two of them together and put it in a frame for him to take to work. He loved it, and almost 5 years later, he still has it on his desk.
Also, one year we made him a "medal" out of foil and ribbon that said Super D!
He got a kick out of it.
I got a bucket of sticky foam Christmas shapes at Michael's (on sale for $5) that came with some small foam sheets. My DD (age 19 mos) loves sticking on the different shapes (Christmas trees, snow men, etc). I then punch a hole in the top, string a ribbon through, and write DD's name and the date on the back using a sharpie. Homemade Xmas ornaments for everyone (Dad, grandparents, etc)! They definitely look like a 1-year-old made them, but DD already takes pride in what she made, and will have great fun giving them out. And I'm sure the fam will love anything from her that she made!
I make tiles every year with their picture on it and handprints - and choose a different poem each year. You can either decopage the pic and poem on or I use Waterslide decals to do it.

If he is a coffee drinker at work you can get mugs made at walmart or one of those kiosks at the mall with your childs picture on it. Fun way to have a picture of your kiddo to show off at work and have a cup of coffee!
I have an 8 year old who has drawn pictures for her daddy every year since she could hold a crayon. We roll the pictures up and wrap them, and Daddy always loves opening them. This year she asked about buying us something, but I stressed that homemade items are our favorite things from her.
I do like the dollar store suggestion someone made. For Mother's Day last year my sister's 4 year old twins were in a preschool and the teacher took her 5 students to the dollar store and let them each pick out one item. The kids felt so important, carefully selecting just the right gift. One of her sons selected a tacky plastic angel and the other gave her... a mop. But she claims those were her favorite gifts ever just because they were carefully chosen just for her!
Merry Christmas!
That's about the age when I started letting my son pick out an ornament for my hubby and the grandmas. They love it! About that age, it tends to be more what the kiddo likes, but at age 5 it has really evolved into him finding what suits each person.
Best of Luck and God Bless!
My hubby loved a golf towel with the kids picture on it.
My twins are 2 1/2 and they also have made a small wooden tray that they decorated with markers. I got it at Hobby Lobby in the unpainted wood section for a couple of bucks. They have a lot of different little items that can be useful. It works great on his desk to hold stuff - not too tacky and sweet b/c the girls colored on it.
I remember when I was little I colored a block of wood and my mom put cup holder hooks on it for a key holder. It was used by him next to the garage door until he passed away.
Have fun!
