my family is fairly new to the Alpharetta area and I am having such a challenge forming new friendships and playgroups! There are no little kids in my neighborhood. I have posted an ad on playgroupsusa.com with no luck. Does anyone know of playgroups in the alpharetta area or how I can form one? I have 2 boys ages 2 1/2 & 3 1/2 who need friends!

K., check out one of the MOMS Clubs in Alpharetta. I was a member of the North East Alpharetta MOMS Club when my kids were preschoolers and the clubs all have play groups where they try to group kids of similar ages. It's a great way to meet other moms and kiddos for some relaxed fun together. :)
I think you can find the closest club to you by just doing a Google search on MOMS Club, then searching for Alpharetta clubs.

Hi K. I am also new to the alpharetta area and am looking for a playgroup in the area. If you have started one I would love to be a part of it and if not maybe we can get together. I have a daughter who is 2 1/2 and a newborn baby girl. Hope to hear from you soon.

They'll set you up with a playgroup in your area for your age child. It's a great organization.
Im new to the area too and would LOVE to join a playgroup! I live off Windward exit in Alpharetta. My daughter, Amberleigh (3) is about to start school at Mt. Pisgah Christian and I am hoping to meet Moms from there, but am open to all potential playdates! OR maybe we could all form our own playgroup?
Have you looked into the MOMS Club? There are clubs all over, including several in Alpharetta. I joined shortly after my son, now 2, was born and it's been a great resource for both of us. He loves his playgroup and I've made some good friends through the club. There are many playgroups, depending upon the children's ages and various activities each month. Some activities are for the moms, but most of them are for the kids. The website for the international site, which will put you in touch with your local chapter, is www.momsclub.com. Good luck!

Hi K.,
My name is K.. I live in Alpharetta also and am a SAHM to my 8 month old boy. We live off of Jones Bridge, where in Alpharetta are you? I'm involved in a playgroup with my friends but it's not in alpharetta. We drive to each other's houses (Marrietta, Cumming, Woodstock, etc). I'm also involved in a mom's Bible study at my church, Mt. Pisgah United Methodist. It meets on Tuesdays at 9:30-11:30 if you are interested. The nursery is wonderful--my son just loves it and the ladies who run that are amazing. It's free of course which is great. We are starting a new study this week so it would be perfect time for you to start. Sorry I don't have other more concrete playgroups but the Bible study/nursery would be a great start. Good luck and welcome to Alpharetta!

For meeting folks, depending upon your personal interests, there are lots of mommy groups. Go to Yahoo groups and join the Northside moms group or the Atlanta Area Breastfeeding Group. Many of these women are still nursing but it is also a great way to meet people. Also, have you visited any churches? Ours has a weekly playgroup, although I'm in East Cobb. There's a bunch of stuff in Alpharetta like that. Or you could try some things like story time at the library or classes at the YMCA to meet folks.
I belong to a MOMS Club in the Johns Creek/Alpharetta area, but I know there's another one close to Windward, if you're in that part of Alpharetta. Go to www.momsclub.com for your area. Also, try enrolling your boys in Little Gym classes or My Gym-I did that with my very active boys (4 and 2) and I think it was better than Gymboree. My first playgroup came out of my first one's Little Gym class. Good luck!
K., I too live in Alpharetta (Windward area) and I'm always up for some play time for the kids. I have a 5 year old boy, and 4 year old and 18 months old girls. I know the ages and sexes don't quite line up, but the kids don't always care. I don't have any play group that I belong too, just friends who get together when all our kids are actually healthy! Maybe I could line you up with one of them if you want! Let me know! Besides, it's always nice for the moms to have some social time too!
