I took my 1 year old to Snip its www.snipits.com there is one in Plano. She cried through the whole thing, but what can you do??? It was either boogers with hair or hair without boogers!!! Good Luck!
My 20 month old has had 3 or 4 trims at home but is in desperate need of her first real haircut. Can anyone recommend a place to take her for her first real haircut? We live in Little Elm so Little Elm/Frisco/Lewisville/Plano any of that area would be worth it for me so that she does not have a bad experience. My daughter does not handle new people and new experiences well so I'm worried it will be rough no matter what we do but I'm looking to make it as smooth as possible.
Thanks to everyone who responded. I took my daughter to Snip-its in Frisco yesterday and it was a much better experience than I could have imagined. I picked Snip-its over Cool Cuts anticipating that on Good Friday they would both be extremely busy but Snip-its might be calmer. One of the other moms in their commented they had never seen it so busy but I was still very satisfied with the wait and my daughter did great. She whined a little but everytime she would start to get upset the lady handed her an animal cracker. It was definately a place I'd recommend to others. Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond. Happy Easter!

I took my daughter to the Toys R Us in Frisco for her first haircut. They were really great w/her. They have kid movies and cute car like seats they sit in. They also give you a certificate and a lock of there hair along with a picture. I can't remember the name of it. You could call the store and they can direct you to that area. I hope this helps.
i have the best place to take toddlers and preschoolers. it is called kids to kids or somthing like that. it is in the tom thumb plaza on parker and independence. the seats are in the shape of cars horses, etc. it is so neat. plus they have tv screens surrounding the seats so that they are distract with a dvd. check it out. it is kind of pricey but they do a good job.
cool cuts for kids is a really cool place and they will take a picture and give it to you with a lock of hair for the very first haircut! Not sure if there is one close to you but they are all over the metroplex.
I agree with Cool Cuts. They are very patient and have videos that can distract the child so that they don't focus on the sissors or stranger cutting their hair. I've gone to them for several years both in CA & here and have always had great experiences.
There's one in Frisco near Little Elm. Here's a link:

We love Cool Cuts 4 Kids. This is the only place we've been. For a child's first haircut, they will save a lock of hair and take a polaroid picture of the child when they are done and put it in a special card for you. It's really cool. They also have a personal tv at each chair and the child may pick what show they would like to watch. This is great to distract them. Or you can let your child sit in your lap if they are really crying. Here is their website www.coolcuts4kids.com
Hope this helps you,

I go to Hair We R on Main St. in Frisco to see Dani. She has 2 young girls of her own. She works on Tues, Thurs, Sat.
Cool Cut for Kids. We go to the one at Hebron Parkway & Old Denton in North Carrollton, but there are others. They have video screens at each haircut station so your child can watch a movie or play a video game. It really takes their minds off their haircut.
I took my son to Cool Cuts for Kids for his first haircut. They take their picture and put it with a lock of hair in a keepsake holder. They also have video players to keep the kids occupied.

i actually liked snip-its better than cool cuts. it's the same conscept and they do all the neat stuff for the 1st cut as well. it's right by walmart off 121 and ohio. check out their website.
We also use Cool Cuts, but we go to the one inside the Toys 'R Us in Frisco. They have seats that are shaped like fire trucks or taxis, plus the TVs to watch. My daughter loves to drive the car and watch TV so the haircut is no big deal. Plus they will take a picture and make a big deal about it being her first haircut if you want them to. Hope this helps!
Hi. I recently started taking my 5 children to the Lewisville Stride Rite. It is the shopping center on the Southwest corner of MacArthur and Hebron Pkwy...behing Vista Ridge Mall. The Stride Rite has a "Children's Haircut place" inside of it in the back of the store. All of my kids loved it and their haircuts were great. I forgot the price, but think it is reasonable. In fact, I'm taking my children tomorrow for Easter haircuts...4 boys and 1 girl with ages ranging from 11 mos. to 6 years.
Good Luck!
