Seeking Pediatrician in Aurora/Naperville Area

My daughter is 10 months old, and I've had enough of her pediatrician. The last four times we were there (three of them regular scheduled visits), we waited over an hour, once almost 2 hours to see the doctor, who was done examining her in less than 5 minutes. On her 9 month appointment he kept referring to her as "the baby" and "he" even though he was looking at her and her chart. I need a higher level of professionalism and respect. I understand an emergency once in a while, but last time I called 1/2 hour ahead to see if they were running behind, and they said they were seeing patients as they walked in the door. 25 minutes later when we got there, the waiting room was full and I had to entertain my hungry daughter for an hour and ten minutes. I'd like to find someone new before her 1 year appointment is due.

What can I do next?

We go thru DuPage Medical Group, which is located at 1020 E. Ogden in Naperville. It is just west of Las Palmas. We have been happy with all the doctors there (I believe there are four) and our favorite is Dr. Froelich. Good luck!

Hi,

Have you tried DuPage Medical Group. My daughters' pediatrician/s are located in Naperville, off of raymond by the walgreens. They rotate doctors and there are a few that I like. Dr. Blount is nice. The waiting room has never been full and we are usually called in within 10 minutes of our appointment time.

I LOVE my ped. I trust and respect her very much. She is great with my children and VERY encouraging & supportive to me personally. Her name is Loraine Eckberg, MD. She's with Dreyer Medical of Fox Valley Villages (by Fox Valley Mall). To schedule an appt. call ###-###-####. I have NEVER had to wait more than 10 minutes. She is very respectful of others' time. I've been going to her for about 5 years. They also have an after hours Ped. on call on Galena Blvd. that you can ACTUALLY schedule an appt with (if you can't get into the dr. that day). I hope this helps. Julie

I have been going to a fantastic ped for almost four years now. The longest I ever had to wait was about 30 minutes (and that is the rare exception). I usually see Dr Michael Reicherts although he now has a female partner and two female nurse practitioners as well. We have seen them all and they are all great. The staff is really good too and have always been able to get us in on the same day when needed for illnesses. They are at 103rd and Rt 59 in Naperville. The number is ###-###-####. Good Luck!

I use Dr. Michael Reicherts in Naperville. 103rd and rt. 59. ###-###-####).

You DO sometimes have to wait to see him or his staff, but they spend SOOO much time with you. You can ask them any questions and they talk to the kids and really get down and evaluate them on their check ups. Ask you questions about milestones and eating... etc.

I don't mind waiting for the care we receive.. though now that they have more docs in the office (he used to be a solo practice) the waits aren't that bad. I was taken within 10 mins or less of walking in the last two times.

I also have my children see Dr. Reicherts (103rd & Rte 59). We recently moved from downtown out to Plainfield. I absolutely loved my previous pediatrician from Northwestern Hospital and he gave me a few recommendations; Dr. Reicherts being one of them. We have only taken our newest addition (3 weeks old), but we only waited about 10 minutes. I absolutely loved him. He was so logical about his advice and what works with children (we discussed our 2 yr old too) and he had the same personality and demeanor that my previous ped had. He did spend a ton of time with us and answered all of our questions without being in a hurry. His staff was very pleasant, the receptionist and the nurse. I have to admit I was doubtful that I would find another like my previous pediatrician, but Dr. Reicherts was a great choice so far. He's affiliated with Edwards Hospital, which has a very reputable pediatrics.
