So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all the advice. I ended up trying Dr. Barry Rudolph's office in Vienna, and was VERY pleased with the whole office. We actually saw Dr. Paino, and he was great. Took time to explain everyting to my daughter, answer all her question (and she had a lot). They filled her cavaty, did not need root canal, but it was boderline, as it was a big cavaty. I waited too long, messing with the other looser dentist.
I highly recommend Dr. Rudolph's office. Thank you!

Hello,

We have a wonderful family practice dentist who is amazing with children. While we don't yet have kids (we're expecting) I've not only seen him in action with them but other friends take their entire families to see him. We highly recommend this practice - it's small enough to get good attention when you need it and large enough to be on the cutting edge of dentistry. They use air abrasion instead of drills when necessary (sand blasting for teeth) and it's painless! Also, their approach is conservative, so if they say you need something they mean it and will explain all the alternatives and clearly answer any questions.

Dr. Barry Rudolph - Vienna - ###-###-####.

Hope this helps!

Everyone we know sends their kids to Dr. Reardon in Ballston. My son loves her and the kid-friendly office. Scheduling is difficult though as she recently came back from maternity leave.

I don't have any recommendation for you but I have to say good for you for seeking a new dentist. Root canals are not needed for just cavities. Root canals are for dealing with infected/dead roots of teeth, not your basic cavities.

Push comes to shove, take your kids to your dentist. When I was little my whole family went to the same dentist. We all loved him.

Good luck.
