Seeking Parent/infant Activities in Warren Area

I am looking for activities to do this summer with my 8 month old in the Warren area, or close proximity. I tried signing up for a parent/infant swim class at the Warren Community Center, but it was already full! I am going to try to do one in the fall, but since I am off work in the summer, wanted to find something for summer. I am open to anything, swimming, baby yoga, etc. Let me know if you know of any places or a website you could direct me to. Thanks

What can I do next?

The Warren swim lessons fill up quickly. We took swim lessons at Lifetime. They have a zero entry pool and you do not have to be a member to take lessons. We really enjoyed them.

I also did a gymboree music class with my son when he was 9 mos old and he loved it. I believe you can also get a summer pass to gymboree.

I would look into Sterling Heights programs as well. They have a lot of great stuff for kids... most of it during the day.

Rochester- RARA also has some wonderful programs and it's must a short drive for you.

The Troy Community Center has swim classes.. not sure if you're open to driving that far though. There is a Kindermusik class I believe in Royal Oak (I teach in Rochester Hills, but that's too far I believe for you) www.kindermusik.com has the teachers listed. Kindermusik has a baby class specifically geared towards 8 month olds. It's a little more expensive than some other classes, but also includes home materials and it's well researched

check out musicalstorytime.com

they have a class this summer meeting in royal oak.

your son is a bit young but he will enjoy the music and some of the activities.

The class is cheap too.. only $39-- for six weeks.

gymboree has classes for infants.. but they are expensive.. $17 per class

look into the YMCA in warren they might have swim classes.. or sterling heights parks and recreation.

I too tried to get into the swim class in warren. for my 2.5 year old and 1 year old and it was full on the first day of registration.

Meetup.com has a few Macomb area playgroups. I belong to one and we keep our own calendar of events - some community based and playdates with other group members. I've had a great time at pretty much everything my son and I have been to.

You don't say if you're breastfeeding or not, but I co-lead the Warren LaLeche League group. We neet monthly and also have a social/play date monthly - at different Warren parks this summer. You'd be most welcome to join us. You can e-mail me for info if you're a breastfeeding mama and interested in meeting other nursing moms in the Warren area. ____@____.com

Hello,
I am almost in the same situation as you. Somebody recommended to me to try the yoga class. There is one in Royal Oak called Namaste (Baby and me on Tuesday morning). I think, I will try this. I don't know if it is too far for you, but I thought I mention it to you anyway.

Good luck
