go to NIH.gov and do a search on the procedure. You'll get a lot of info that way. not personal just professional/medical
I am going in for the essure procedure and I was wondering if any other moms have had this done. For moms who do not know what this is it is a procedure that you have not to have anymore kids. There are no incisions, less to no recovery time and a lot less pain. This is what I heard from the doctor. So if anyone else has had this pleae let me know about your experience.
Thanks
I did not get the essure I ending up tying my tubes becuase they found a cyst that had to be removed and since they were going to be in there they were going just to tie the tubes. I think that it was more an insurance thing, but oh well all is done and thanks for the advice!

I had it done and it went ok... I slept the day away cause of all the meds they give you to take starting the day before. So make sure someone is watching your kids and there too if you need help.
I had my tubes tied 2 weeks before Christmas and my recovery time was really short. It is effective immediately unlike Essure where you have to go back to the doc. for a 2nd procedure (dye injected) to make sure that it has taken effect. I had my doc asked about both and he suggested to have the traditional procedure since although they say the Essure is as effective it hasn't been around long enough to really determine if that's a fact yet. He did say that he does the Essure procedure when a woman has had a lot of problems with her abdomin and it's best not to have incisions. Good luck and I hope my view helps you.
I did it 2 yrs ago and no problems so far. There was just a little pain, more like a period pain for a day and then I was fine.
I had this procedure done about 5 years ago when it was relatively new. It was virtually painless. The only discomfort I felt was after the procedure when the dye is injected to be sure the tubes are closed. I would highly recommend this procedure.
