Hi D. -
Try Dr. James Jew - he was my OB when I was prego and was awesome! Ask his receptionist Kelly about being good with your condition. ###-###-####
good luck!
Ladies, I would love to know if any of you knows of an OB in the east valley (we're in Chandler) who has experience treating hyperemesis (severe morning sickness) and is good at it.
I currently have an OB, but she is proving to be too naturopathic (something I normally love, and one reason why I selected her). Whenever I mention treatment, she keeps coming back with "ginger and lemons," which simply doesn't cut it in treating severe morning sickness. Thus, I'd like to switch to someone who can be more aggressive and proactive in treating this condition.
Thanks!

Hi D.,
I had hyperemesis with my thrid child and it was so horrible! I feel your pain! My doctors were Goodman and Partridge and their website is http://azmomdocs.com/. They were great and really listened to me when it came to being SO sick. They set me up on home health care with Matria and I had a nurse that visited my house a few times a week. I had an IV, a machine that administered Zofran 24/7 and eventually after I was hospitalized I had a pic line instead of an IV in my arm. Please, Let me know if you have any questions as I have been here. :) And keep us posted. I wish you the best of luck! J.
Trying call my OB/GYN Doctor. He is in Chandler, his name is Dr. Harry Watters. ###-###-####
Good Luck
I have a great doctor that is really willing to listen to his patients. He will perscribe nausia medication and will make sure that you are comfortable with it. His name is Dr. David Kells, (Boojum Obgyn) ###-###-####. He is located next to Chandler Regional Medical Center!!
Hi Diane J,
I feel your pain!!! I had hyperemesis with both my pregnancies and it's not something that ginger or peppermint or wrist bands or sipping cola will fix. You need medication. I took Zofran daily. And I would say Zofran over Phenergen (the other drug they offer). Zofran is more expensive but it's better (in my opinion).
I went to Southwest Womens Care (they have an office in Mesa and in Ahwatukee). The doctors are great. They are not good with follow up at all but they are great doctors. ###-###-####
If this doesn't get under control you will end up at the hospital needing hydration. That is what happened to me both pregnancies; I thought I could control it or it would go away but it didn't and I got dehydrated.
Good luck and I hope you get the support you need.
I LOVED Dr. Laura Kimbro, Dr. Wilson and Dr. Grayson at Southwest Woman's Care in Ahwatukee. I know they can help you. If it warrants it, she can give you a certain med to help. I was also on progesterone early in the pregnancy, so I was super nauseous. I tried all the preggo pops with no improvement, and the Accubands for the wrists, which may have helped a little, but def. didn't take it away. Chocolate ice cream and choc. milk helped. I found, however that the ReaLemon drops did help. It's a marble type of candy that you can suck on, made out of ReaLemon. I think it was in the candy aisle at the grocery store, but is widely found.
Honey is soothing, too, as is chamomile tea.
