Seeking New Doctor - Ipswich,MA

I am looking for a new pediatrician's office for my 9 month old son. While I like the doctors on staff, I can't tolerate the office staff. I work in a hospital for a very busy medical practice so I can understand being busy and short. They never call you back and I often have to call them back to get my answers. I once let three days go by before I called back with my question AGAIN. I have not had a good feeling since day one but stuck it out because it was close to home. I am looking to see if anyone knows of a better office.

What can I do next?

I ABSOUTLY LOVE MY PEDIATRICIAN AND MY KIDS DO TOO!!!!!!!!!

IT WOULD BE A LITTLE BIT OF A RIDE FOR YOU LIVING IN IPSWICH, BUT IT IS WORTH IT. HIS NAME IS THOMAS MCLAUGHLIN. THE FACILITY IS KIDS HEALTH. THERE IS 2 PEDS THERE. DR LEATH AND DR MCLAUGHLIN. I HAVE ONLY SEEN DR LEATH ONCE AND SHE WAS NOT VERY FRIENDLYBUT DR MCLAUGHLIN IS WONDERFUL. THEY TAKE PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING AS FAR AS INSURANCE GOES. MY COMPANY HAS CHANGED OUR PROVIDERS 3 TIMES AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS TAKEN IT. HE IS SHORT, HEAVY SET OLD MAN WHO BREATHES HEAVY. MY 7 YEAR OLD LOVES HIM BECAUSE WHEN HE GETS A SHOT HE GETS TO PICK SOMETHING FROM THE TREASURE CHEST AND WHEN HE IS PICKING OUT A TOY DR TOM GIVES HIM THE SHOT. BY THE TIME HE REALIZES WHAT HAPPENED IT IS OVER AND HE IS BACK IN THE CHEST LOOKING FOR HIS TOY. THE NURSES ARE WONDERFUL. MY 1 YEAR OLD IS OK WITH HIM. HE IS STILL LITTLE THOUGH. HE HAS BEEN VOTED NUMBER 1 PED IN THE NORTH SHORE FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. I WOULD RECCOMEND HIM TO EVERYONE. I HAVE HIS NUMBER IF YOU WOULD LIKE. I HOPE THAT THIS HELPS BECAUSE YOU SHOULD BE VERY COMFORTABLE WITH THE DR YOU CHOOSE! HAVE A GREAT DAY. MY E-MAIL IS ____@____.com IF YOU WANT ANY MORE INFO.

I take my three month old daughter to Childrens Health Care in Central Plaza in Haverhill. The doctors are great, and the staff is too. They are paperless... they use laptop computers to write down all information. Very thorough, and caring.

you didn't say where you are.. in Beverly and Danvers, is North Shore Pediatrics.. Dr Tom Seman is wonderful, but I don't think he's taking any new patients, but any of the other dr's are just as wonderful.. they are down to earth, reliable and tell it like it is... Dr Danis is young, but he's very soft spoken and knowledgeable. Most of the nurses are very caring and sweet (there's always 1 or 2 you don't like, but overall, they are great) good luck. Finding someone you like is hard...

A.,
We use Salem Pediatrics and like it a lot. They have a sick and well building so that your well child is not mixed in with sick kids (very good when they are still little). They also work Sat and Sunday mornings so you dont have to use the emergency room. The are associated with Salem Hospital and Boston Childrens. Whenever I have had a problem they have sent me directly to Boston Childrens no fooling around.... I really did like that. Likewise you only are guarenteed to see your own pediatrician for well visits but they are often aware of visits with other doctors in their office. On a not so good note. My older children (23, 20 oh yes I have a 2 year old too). they went to Thom Mclaughlin. He miss diagnosed my daughters problems too late which left her with a growth problem by the time we saw the endocrinologist it was too late and she is now 5 feet tall instead of 5'5 and has abnomally small hands. I would NOT recommend him. (probably should have sued him). Good Luck

We've been very happy with Garden City Pediatrics in Beverly. It is located on the grounds of Beverly Hospital. I've never had a problem getting an appointment if I need it and the office staff has always been very helpful and courteous. They are open 365 days a year (although weekend appointments are reserved for sick visits). For more information you can check out their website at: www.gardencitypediatrics.com.
