Happy to hear you have had a successful health event. Your life has been quite stressful. Although I can't offer any suggestions as to where to go for the nail/spa treatment, I will offer some advice as to the son looking to be a chef. Cooking school is NOT cheap. They promise a great job with good pay. The truth, chefs frequently earn less than the servers, the hours are awful and work is hard. To get benefits you generally need to work for hotels or nursing homes (they also offer "regular" shifts). If he has NOT worked in resturant before, encourage him to before making a commitment to this career. My husband graduated from CHIC (the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago with the Cordon Bleu program) with high honors, spent over $40,000 in tuition, worked at some of the most up scale resturants along the northshore and earned little more than minimum wage. He has left cooking. Even after 5yrs, my income as an assistant store manager was much higher than his....and I never hit the $30,000 mark which these days is a minimum livable income.
A child in the military is stressful as well. I wish you nothing but the best. My eldest was in the Army for 7yrs. Several times he was scheduled to see "action"....but fortunately for us, he never did. He learned alot while there, saw the world and considered them some of the best years of his life.
