Hi Jesse, If you go to meetup.com, you'll be able to find parent goups in your area. I recently looked it up for my area, and was surprised to finds many well organized groups. Good luck and congrats on the birth of the twins.
I haven't live here long. I have 2 month old twin girls and I work from home, so I don't get out much. I thought it would be nice to socialize a little.
There doesn't seem to be a mom's group here so I'm starting one!! If you live in the Nutley area and would like to come play with us send me a message. I found a church that will let us use a meeting room. I'm not sure what we'll do, I've never been in a mom's group, so feel free to keep posting replies and give me some ideas about what to do!

Hi J., my name is J.. I have an 18 month old daughter who I recently decided to stay home with on a full time basis. I have made several attempts in the past 4 monthes to find groups such as the one your seeking and have unfortunately been very unsuccessful. My husband and I have been here for the past 2.5 years and I am certain there are a lot of mothers in this area who are interested in the same type groups, I just haven't found them yet. Maybe someone will respond with better news! BTW Sounds like you have your hands full. Good luck and best wishes!
I don't know of a Mom group specifically. But there is a Parent's Association through the Rainbow Academy in Rutherford,NJ where my 2 yr old daughter goes to school 3 days a week. And we organize picnics and group events throughout the year.
I moved to NJ from Manhattan 2 years ago so I am always looking for similiar minded parents here in North Jersey to hang out with and have play dates with.
If you're interested - let me know. I work in the music business so I put in a LOT of hours on the job - my time is flexible though even though I usually work non-stop. My husband is a funeral director and we are both heavily into music - we've both been in bands, etc.
Cheers,
D.
Hi,
I am in Carlstadt (just north of Rutherford). My son is 2.5 and I have been hunting for a good group since he was a baby. What I have found so far is that my local library has a story hour and playgroup. Also, the YMCA in North Arliington has many baby and preschool classes. There is a story hour at the Clifton Barnes and Noble at 11 am on Wednesdays. There is a Meadowlands MOMS club that was meeting at the Rutherford Library but that may have changed (I think they are online but I'm not sure the details). Also online is Meetup.com and there is a Bloomfield parents group. I haven't gone to their events since they like to plan them at my son's naptime.
I would be interested in finding out about your playgroup. My son is not the right age to play with your little girls but I am expecting a baby in December and that might be a better match. Even if things are a little crazy for me in the next few months, keep me in mind. I think we have some similar interests--I like to tie dye and hand dye clothing and make jewlery and I sew a little. You are welcome to send me and email if you want.
Come and join our Moms group!
