J.D.
I'd talk to your doctor and maybe also a counselor to help you make a decision.
Hi I am 31yrs old and the mother of two girls, 12 and 5. My deliveries and pregnancies were very difficult. My first child was born 2 months early and we almost died. With the second child I had complications with my heart rate and it was tramatic. I have Graves disease and it has affected my heart. I am currently off medications but for the past two weeks had chest pain etc. I am told there is a termination pill that I can take but I want to know if anyone has had a similar experience and just any advise on what is best. My husband works out of town so I am by myself with the children the majority of the time. I am really confused and more than a little scared.
I'd talk to your doctor and maybe also a counselor to help you make a decision.

You posted a question earlier today that was written almost exactly as this one has been written. I went back through and you received some really good responses.
I'm going to respond to both questions right now.
First of all, I'm prolife, however I understand there are certain circumstances where it would be better to terminate a pregnancy. From your other post, you say you have Graves Disease, and nearly lost your life and the life of your two daughters. Because of this, you should consider terminating the pregnancy if you feel that was is needed.
Secondly, you need to be seen by a doctor for your chest pains. That isn't something you just sit around on the computer and wait for it to go away.
And lastly, and I know this is going to seem harsh, but if you have had this much trouble with pregnancy, and are considering terminating this pregnancy because your body can't handle it, and your husband is out of town...then maybe you need to do something more permanent to keep from getting pregnant again.
Good luck with your decision!
What exactly are you asking? Termination pill for what? A pregnancy?
Please clarify...

DEAR W.,
I'm so sorry to hear of all your problems. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Before making
any decisions, seek counsil from a pro-life doctor and your pastor. God gives us only what he thinks we can handle, and he has a plan for that child. You never know that baby may grow up to cure your own disease. I'm also worried about the termination pill, it definitly has risks, one being death. Please be careful. I'll be thinking of you.

Good doctors will make all the difference with your pregnancy.
How happy are you with your current doctors? If you have VERY experienced doctors that will make all the difference. I go to Dr. Akin (OBGYN) and Dr. Bery (Perinatologist). Dr. Akin is SOOO above and beyond any OB I've ever been to. He is really good about checking things for your health and less worried about red tape and insurance. Dr. Berry is a terrific perinatologist!! I absolutely LOVE him. VERY knowledgable!!
Someone else posted here that they have Graves. Check with her to see what doctors she uses.
Anyway - please seek the best doctors you can find - do your homework! It really will make a difference!!
Dear W.,
I had to read your previous post to understand this one because you mention in this post a termination pill, but did not mention a pregnancy. I am not aware of a termination pill without going through a termination procedure. There is a pill called "The Morning After pill" that is designed to take within 72 hours of intercourse. This pill is a mega dose of a birth control pill, but it does not terminate an actual pregnancy. It simply stops conception. However, there are mixed opinions on this as well, and I am one that is not real big on the morning after pill. Any how, I just wanted to clear that up with you and make sure someone was not referring to this as a form of termination. I worked for an OBGYN for many years and I cared for many women with the same condition you are experiencing and guess what, they did beautifully. Even though they had some obstacles to overcome and had to be monitored more closely, their pregnancies were successful. If you look back at your own pregnancies, you and your babies survived it all. As far as the chest pain, you must address this ASAP! Only because you mention you had problems with your heart rate. I don't know if you had high blood pressure during your pregnancies, but I do know the heart rate can increase because of the estrogen levels, regardless, please get it checked. The graves disease can be managed under the care of an Endocrine doctor. I don't know where you live, but in San Antonio there are great OBGYN's, Endocrine physicians and there is a doctor by the name of Dr. Kenneth Higby. He cares for high risk pregnancy, but does not do the delivery. Your ob will deliver, but he or she will put you under the care of other specialist during your pregnancy. It sounds like you have already been that route, but just wanted to reinforce it. You know W., we often wonder why? "Why did this happen and what will I do?" I don't have the answer because this is something we all question, but I do know God is faithful to see you through. I don't know your faith, but it certainly does not hurt to share with you that God is in the business of restoration and He wants you to know that, "He Makes All Things NEW." Every mom who has responded to you can't give you all the answers, but we can try and help guide you so that you may have hope. My mom always says, "If God brought you to it, He will bring you through it." I thank God that His wisdom, knowledge and understanding will guide you and give you peace. In the meantime, please see your physician and get under some good care. I also want to let you know that there are risk in pregnancy terminations as well. But I am not here to condemn you, but to encourage you that God is good and is the greatest physician of all! Be Encouraged (John 3:16)
Isaiah 53: 4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows, (He carries our pain and our sorrows so we don't have to)
yet we considered him stricken by God, (yet we turned away)
smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities; (He took our sins-so we can be forgiven)
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, (He took our punishment so we can have peace)
and by his wounds we are healed.(He was beaten and suffered many wounds so we can be healed) He did it all for us!
If you have any question, please don't hesitate to ask or if you need a referral.
