Hi everyone, I was wondering, what would be a nice gift to give for a baby nephew's Baptism? I already missed the event and told the parents a gift from me is on the way. A couple of years ago I bought a gift for a baby niece, an engraved trinket box and teddy bear, but that's not "boy" stuff. I appreciate any ideas you have for me, thanks so very much!

Hi,
I have two boys, almost 4 yrs and 16 months. We got a lot of different items for their baptism's but what I liked best were the bible story board books. They fit the occasion and were also very useful. We still bring many of them to church services on a regular basis to occupy the boys. We did get some baptism knick knacks that were very nice, but with them sharing a small room, there really isn't space for all of them. Good luck!
Our favorite gift that our daughter received for her dedication (would be GREAT FOR A BOY TOO!) was a night light. It was a cross with 4 animals all over it. And a very nice poem about how God created everything. ....And birds that sing. .... Sky so blue and best of all he created YOU! (I can't remember all the words.) SOOOOOO CUTE! And it's something that is practical too.
You have some great ideas already! My sons each received a children's bible story book. One of the books includes a CD with corresponding songs.
I don't know where my friend bought this but for my son's baptism she gave us a ceramic photo frame that says "Baby's Baptism" on it. Maybe you could find something like that?
Do they have a nice frame yet for a baptism photo? Both of my boys' baptism photos are displayed in an engraved, personalized frame. It has the date of baptism and their name on it.
My son received two stuffed animals for his baptism (both white lambs...one that has a music box inside that plays "Jesus Loves Me") and I don't consider them "girly". I think you'd be okay giving another teddy bear. Other baptism gifts my kids have received: board book version of Bible stories, a bank with Bible verses on it (it also has a slot to insert a photo of your baby), and frames that were specifically for baptism photos. If you're Catholic...my sister gave my son a rosary. She actually beaded it herself out of brown beads (very masculine).
My daughter's recieved US savings bonds. The gift that keeps on giving. That is what I am giving my Godson for birthday's and Christmas's-let his parents buy the toys!
Or maybe a nice piggybank? Or a small scrapbook? I love to give gifts that do not clutter someone elses house as I have battled with nik nak clutter all my life.
One of the best gifts I received was a personalized baby blanket that had my son's full name and baptism date. A cross was embroidered on it and it has a saying about it being for his baptism. They also have little personalized framed work as well. If you google personalized baptism gifts I am sure you can find something similar.
My son received a silver Noah's Arc "piggy" bank engraved with his name on it. It is very tasteful, not too big, and being silver very neutral to go go with any decor he may have. Good luck!
I got my Godson a St. Christopher's Metal.
This may be too late for you but we just gave my nephew the book "You Are Special" by Max Lucado for his baptism. I wrote a few bible verses and a note inside the cover. I LOVE that book!
We got a small cross to put in his room and a picture frame. I have friends who got their son baptized and I found him a guardian angel that said bless this baby.
I just attended my twin niece & nephew baptism & here are some things my nephew got. A name bracelet, blessing bowl (pewter bowl w/ papers for people & parents to write their blessings for baby), white gold cross necklace, A porcelain train engine w/ first car (number 1) with another car to be added to it each year, blankets, clothes, and several savings bonds. Hope this helps.
