Seeking Help to Lower High Cortisol Levels

I have high cortisol levels mainly in the morning. I believe it was caused by being severly overdosed on bioidentical progesterone and then being put on Ativan because the progesterone overdose was causing anxiety. One year later, I still have high cortisol and it is making my life miserable because I still have the anxiety and it won't go away. I've been to dr. after dr. trying to find one that knows how to lower cortisol. Does anyone else have this problem and if so, have you found a doctor who actually knows how to lower cortisol? Obviously I haven't had much success trying to treat it on my own.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I have done several saliva tests. They all showed my cortisol to be high in the morning. I would think a tumor would cause my cortisol to be high all the time. I have not been to see an endo yet. Don't know of a good endo to go see as most of them just seem to deal with diabetes. Any recommendations?

I am not sure if this will help, but here is an article that I found interesting.

She talks about high levels at night mainly.

For anxiety you may want to try a spoonful of coconut oil. Dont take it on an empty stomach (can cause nausea) and get unrefined. I have very anxious friends that swear by a spoonful of coconut oil.

there is a book by Ann Louise Gittleman called Fat Flush Plan, it uses Diet to control levels, I highly recommend any, and all, of her books, you might see if you can get some answers there to help you while you are pursuing other treatments. there are several dietary options that can help. mind you I've never had mine checked but I have followed her plan before and have had good and helpful health results, although like most people I don't follow it full time. I don't have a weight issue, but I do have some health issues that I have followed her advice for.

Are you , have you been to an endocrinologist? Have you had your adrenal function tested other than 24 hour urine? i would think a CT of your adrenals to look for BENIGN growths ( which could cause them to over function = high cortisol )

hope you see an Endocrinologist
