Hi --

I'm looking for a good preschool in Monument for my 4 year old son. We just moved here from San Diego and we'd like to put him in a stimulating, caring and fun learning environment a few mornings a week.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Hi A.,

Welcome to Colorado!
We moved here last year and our kids attend Monument Academy and we are thrilled with it. Our experience has been great, the teachers are very nurturing. They will open a preschool this fall. I'm not sure if it is already full, but it is worth a try. Hope that helps. You can go to monumentacademy.net and click the preschool button. Good luck with the altitude adjustment!

Hi A.,
I'm a native Californian living in Monument the past year and a half! I know Lewis Palmer School District is opening preschools at EVERY school site next year. They will be offering Pre-K for those going into K the following year. You should go to the district office, or your local school and get more info about this!

I have four children who have been in probably eight different preschools. The best I have ever been in BY FAR is Deb Fiala's in Arrowwood ###-###-####! She is so loving and yet still gets the kids to want to do their best. She teaches them more than any other preschool we have been in and can take a problem personality trait in a child and lovingly, but taking no guff, turn it into a strength. She always has a waiting list, so you may have to put your child in another school in the mean time, but she is worth waiting for.

I am a teacher turned stay at home mom and really looked into all of the preschools in the area. We enrolled our daughter in St. Peter's Catholic School in Monument. I was very impressed with their program. They have a great deal on their website at www.stpetertherock.org. I hope it helps.
