Seeking Good Family Church - New to Creedmoor

We just moved to Creedmoor last month and we're looking for a good church nearby. In California, I attended a non-denominational community church and loved the music and the "no pressure" atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly and I felt like it was a very accepting environment. My husband attended a Methodist church off and on as a child, but hasn't attended one as an adult. We have two small boys (almost 3 and 1 1/2), so I would like to find a church that has a good kid's ministry. I think it would be a great way for us to meet new people and worship. We are willing to drive... maybe North Raleigh, Wake Forest or Durham?

Thanks!

So What Happened?

We decided to try Living Word Family Church - and it was great! Everyone was SO friendly and the message about making a marriage better... who couldn't use that?!?! My husband really enjoyed Pastor Steve (as did I). Neither of my boys cried when we left them in their rooms (yippee!). All in all, it was a very successful visit and I can't wait to hear more of Pastor Steve's message on Sunday. Thank you for all of your suggestions. There are a couple that we were interested in - and it was hard to chose!

Hi D.,

I would highly recommend Lifepointe church, held in Wakefield movie theatre (North Raleigh). I come from a traditional Catholic background so it was a little strange drinking a coffee while attending services and they do more singing than I'm used to but the people are awesome, the message to the point. My son doesn't want to go back to Catholic CCD. They have a great bible study program for kids (during 1st service) and a fun family service (FamJam) that your boys would probably love. Not sure about a nursery. All the staff is very accessible. Call them at ###-###-####. Hope to see you there!

Hi D.: I don't know how far away Creedmoor is from Wake Forest but I attend an awesome (probably the best I have ever been) church called Living Word Family Church. I too am from California (going on 2 years) and was looking basically for a church that my whole family would love before I loved it. Well, I must have gone thru quite a few churches and came upon LWFC. I was floored with the people, the music and most of all how my kids just want to practically live there. I am so blessed!!!! It is so convenient. Right on Capital bordering N. Raleigh. You will love it. http://www.lwfc.org/

Hey, I am a Creedmoordian (not born and bred) we have lived for about 25 years now. We, my husband and I, raised our 2 girls in the Creedmoor United Methodist Church on Park St in downtown Creedmoor. Would love to see you there. On Sunday, June 7th, we are having an after church covered dish meal to say good buy to our wonderful Pastor, Bob Hagerty, who will be moving on. We will be welcoming a new Pastor and his young family in the next few weeks. We would love for you to join our church family. Our service begins at 10:00-Sunday school and 11:00 for church services. My name is M., just ask, if you are interested in coming. Oh, you don't need to bring a dish on Sunday if you choose to visit. Just come, meet and eat.

Welcome to NC! We moved here from a Chicago suburb last fall, and visited 12 or so churches before we found Crosspointe in Cary. I can't say enough how much I love this church. Contemporary worship and message, great programs, heart for people (with no pressure - not the traditional "preachiness" you expect from a southern church), gospel based, non-denominational, etc . We live in Wake Forest and feel the drive is totally worth it. We have been Christians for a long time, but know even "seekers" find this church comfortable and welcoming. If you are looking for a more traditional church or something in between, I'd be happy to recommend some others we visited. Several were good churches, just not what we were looking for. But it gave me the experience to share with others. :D Best wishes! C.

My husband and I have been attending an awesome church in Wake Forest - Richland Creek Community Church - for over four years now. It has strong ministries to its members and the community. The preschool and children's programs are incredible and growing. My almost six year old is about to start her second year of a special Sunday morning kids worship called Legacy Lodge. The children's pastor loves to share the love of Jesus with the kids and incorporates upbeat worship music, reoccuring characters and puppets, and the children love it! They even partcipate in the services. In preschool they have had a GIGL church(Growing In God's Love), also using puppets and biblical teaching on the preschooler level. In May the church finished their first year of a weekday preschool program - Preschool at the Creek - which was extremely successful with encouraging parent reviews. So if you're also looking for a preschool, check out RCCC! God has really blessed this church!
