Seeking Fund Raising Ideas for My Granddaughter's Choir Trip.

A jump rope team in Grandview raised money with a flock of pink, plastic flamingos. Someone would pay to have the flock land in a neighbor's yard in the middle of the night. A note would be left on the door explaining that if they would like the flock to move on, they could pay a small removal fee and call a certain number, OR they could pay a slightly higher fee to have the flock land in someone else's yard. A small yard sign could explain that it was fundraising FUN.

I think Kohl's will also hire extra wrapping/ restocking help for fundraising purposes around the holiday season. If the trip isn't until next spring this might be an option.

I think there is nothing better than babysitting money- make a flyer and pop it throughout some neighborhoods- spread the word thru your church or other group events and let them know that proceeds will go towards her field trip

Several of the home party plan companies offer fund raisers. With Christmas just around the corner it's a fun way for friends and family to shop for gifts and help out a good cause at the same time. The way most of them work is to give you money instead of hostess gifts. Good luck!

Someone beat me to it but I am also an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International and District Manager. I have done several fundraisers for the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk using the Awaken Sea Salt scrub that everyone loves and have had good results with that. The f.y.i. line (for young individuals) is specifically for teens and would be a good line to do the fundraiser with since you have a granddaughter in that group but their moms would be interested in other products so actually you could do a catalog fundraiser and my suggestion on that would be to have the people participating in the fundraiser to pay the retail price + tax & shipping and then I would donate my commission of 35% to your granddaughter. I know a guy who does the Enjoy the City books. It's like the entertainment coupon book - smaller, though. I've done several fundraisers - it's the absolute easiest and most profitable fundraiser I've ever done. The books are $20 - your profit is $10. Plus bonus things like every 20 books sold gets cash, etc...that part changes a little bit. But Dennis shows up with however many books you need - 100, 200, 800, whatever - and you tell him how long you want to do the fundraiser event for - then you meet back up, and you give him back however many books you didn't sell, and $10 for every book you did sell. It's super simple, and Dennis is so easygoing to work with.

I have a friend who sells Pampered Chef and she does fundraisers. Another friend of mines brother ended up in the hospital and needed some $$ to help with the bills. My students have sold tee shirts advertising their efforts, taken Cokes, pencils or eggs door-to-door and sold them for whatever the donor wanted to offer(donated by local stores), raffled donated items in a silent auction, rented out their friends and choir members for odd jobs, held a car show (the BIGGEST single money-maker, but takes several months to put together), held benefit concerts around the area, got their orthodontist/attorney/parent employer to sponsor the trip, had the local beauty/barber/chiropractic school offer services for donations since they have a minimum practice quota to certify....Have her look on-line for some unique and unusual fund raisers outside the metroplex. Try cookies---homemade and sell them in her own neighborhood by the dozen or whatever---a girl in my granddaughters People to People group (for raising funds for Australia) made over $800 doing that---she took orders one week for the next week--had a ittle flyer made that explained what she was doing and why--had about 3-4 choices of cookies and off she went. Her parents took them to work to people also--every Friday! You can get cookie dough already made up in several kinds and there you go! It worked for her--might work for your granddaughter--and a good family get-together to do the baking--Grandma could even make some at her house and help out--huh??

Congrats to your granddaughter for making select choir. A teenage girl in my neighborhood was raising funds last year for a similar trip. She made up flyers and passed out to the whole neighborhood offering her services for basically whatever people could use her for - babysitting, yardwork, pet sitting, etc. She also wrapped Christmas gifts for people and I know got a lot of business from that. I think most people really like to help out kids who are doing good things with their lives.

Hi J., one easy and great way to raise cash fast is selling mardi gras beads at sporting and other events in the schools colors. Or go to local college games and sell their colors while people are tailgating. You can get great prices here http://www.toomeys-mardigras.com/ and sell them for a $1 or a few for a dollar.

For instance, you can get 60 dozen red beads for $28 selling them at 2 for $1 yields a $332 profit.

what about carhopping at sonic for tips? we used to do this in my high school, all of the members would participate, & they would carhop for tips, you could contact your local sonic & ask if they do this...

also other restaurants do percentages for nights if you tell them you are there for their school...

& what about an auction, each member of the choir would auction themselves off for a 2-4hr, time slot, for which they would go & do household chores at the winner's house.
