Does anyone have any good suggestions on a fun game to play with about 5 couples at a dinner party? We are invited to a good friends house for dinner and games and everyone is to bring a fun game to play and I am looking for a new one other than "Scene-it or Cranium". Thanks for your help!
The best game in the world for large groups of say 6 to 12 people is PIT!
Its a very old game, unadvertised but still available. In fact if you search ebay you can sometimes find classic versions from the 40's
Play it once and you will love it...so what is it? Its a trading game where folks are dealt and hand of special cards and then have a limited time to (with mass hysteria) to trade with other players to complete a group. Its that simple but a blast to play. WARNING, it can get LOUD!! AND FUN!!!
We play games w/ a bunch of our neighbors all the time. These are some we've had a lot of fun playing: Whoonu, Imaginiff, Battle of the Sexes, Uno, Taboo, Outburst, Catch Phrase, Boggle, Tripoly, Kings in the Corner, Spoons, Phase 10 and Mill Bornes.
Taboo is really fun and we always plyed girls against guys!
When in mixed company (male/females) we love to play Battle of the Sexes or Balderdash.
I love Malarky and Loaded Questions.
Besides Cranium, we like Balderdash, Pictionary, Scattergories, Yahtzee, Trivial Pursuit, Clue and Taboo. And, if you're into Dominoes, I love to play Chickenfoot!
We had a friend bring "The Great Dalmuti" to our house last year, and just loved it! It does require a table that everyone can sit at, since it's a card game. It's a blast!
When we get together with friends we love to play Sequence and Pass the Pigs.
We've had loads of fun playing Sequence. With a large group, you can play teams, which makes it fun. It's simple, but involves some strategy. Even my kids love it.
Taboo!!! It is so much fun and really gets everyone laughing! You will want to play it everytime! We play it all of the time with our couple friends and everyone loves it. You can buy it at Target or Walmart.
I love Taboo and Pictionary!
We have had a great time with friends playing Balderdash. It is a game where you have to make up definitions for real words that are obscure and mostly unknown. Then every one votes on the correct definition giving points to the one that gets the most votes. You can buy the game or just play it using a dictionary.
We like Apples to Apples and Tribond.
Catch Phrase is a favorite of ours. It is alwasy played at our Sunday school parties. Everyone sits in a circle, and the teams are divided into 2....split every other person. It is an electronic handheld game that you pass around the circle. There are clues in the chosen category and you try to have your team members guess your word. You can do anything but say the word. Always lots of fun. And we always look forward to it.
scatagories or taboo are fun!
Tri-bond is fun. it lists 3 items and you have to guess what they have in common. for example, a tree, an elephant and a car ..... their common bond is.... a trunk. it's a fun game. you can find it at a thrift store too... that's where we got ours. ~C.~
We love Catch Phrase as well. Also have played Apples to Apples in a big group too.
I just played a new game with a friend of ours last weekend. I think it is called CLR?? It consists of 3 dice and some chips. You just roll the dice and pass the chips. It was pretty fun. She said that her husband plays the game and instead of using the chips, they use a dollar bill. It was a lot of fun. Either that or Bunko. That is a lot of fun too!
have a great time!
B.
catch phrase is also a fun and easy one!
The dice game that someone else mentioned is Left, Right, Center -- really simple and fun.
Def Apples to Apples. I have a blast with that game and it is intersting to see who knows whose take on things! I Love it!
