One great way to meet new friend is a sport. There is a great swim team in FM, Lakeside Aquactic Club, that swims at two pools in the area. They have lots of levels for different abilities. If your daughter is not yet a swimmer, sign her up for lessons until she is ready for a team.

Hi R.!
Congrats on the new addition of your daughter. I think you have gotten great advice so far. One more way I think your daughter could make some new friends quickly is by joining the Girl Scouts. They get together regularly and do wonderful things together. Also a nice way for you to get to now some of the moms in your community. Good luck!

Congratulations on the addition to your family. Flower Mound is a great community for kids! I'm sure she's going to love it.

Flower Mound also a large community, so I would encourage you to find friends for your daughter that are in your neighborhood or in your school boundaries - I've found those to be the most successful, once I child is school-aged. With busy schedules, it can be difficult to maintain friendships across town, much less form them.

I would start with your daughter's classmates, and also try to have her become active in a sport or other activity such as music or drama - it's a great way for kids to meet each other. Also consider contacting your HOA to see if they offer any kind of group or activity for your daughter to meet other girls in the neighborhood.

Finally, on a separate note, feel free to check out Family eGuide. Our community calendar includes lots of local events for you and your family - another great way for her to meet other young girls in our community.

Good luck!

I own 2 year-round, indoor, swim-schools in Flower Mound and Keller, Texas. You could enroll in an age-appropriate class and meet many new families as well as children that way. Just a thought...
