I am seeking a place of worship that is not too big and near Carrollton. I was raised Catholic and married Catholic but the way I was betrayed and deceived made me feel unsure if i wanted to continue my Catholic beliefs. I want a church that has a great support group and great youth and infant/toddler goup or class as well as a and single parent, divorced, and MDO program.

Thanks for all you WONDERFUL MOTHERS tha have helped me in the past w/all MY struggles that I have been facing the past year or so...

What can I do next?

Hi, I wanted to share with my church home for the past 17 years Custer Road United Methodist Church. We are located in Plano on Custer(6601) between Legacy and Springcreek. My Husband John is our Student Pastor and has been for 17 years. We have an amazing program with about 75 adults that are investing their time, talent and love for these kids every week. Our music programs as well as childrens programs are truly reaching our children's needs in so many ways. We offer many support groups and a very friendly environment. I hope you will visit us and bring your precious family. Our AWorship schedule offers 4 services on Sunday morning. At our 8:30 service the student choir sings and we have many students that attend, 9:45 worship, 11:00 contemporary service in our Upper Room, 11:00 worship in our sanctuary. The number to get more information is ###-###-#### Many Blessings, J.

Hi S.,
I wanted to tell you about where we go to church, Fellowship Bible Church North in Plano (www.fbcnorth.org). We've been going here for about 5-6 yrs and we're so pleased with our church family -- we've grown spiritually so much and have made life-long friends here. I know it's not in Carrollton, but I know members that make the drive from Farmers Branch because they love this church. You should try to visit a church service sometime -- I can meet you at the door and give you a tour, if you'd like. Services are: Friday 7 p.m.; Sunday 9 a.m.; 10:30 a.m. and Noon.

There is a great youth group and wonderful toddler classes during the adult church service. And there's a single mom ministry, too (http://www.fbcnorth.org/Content/298.htm). There is also a divorce support group. Below is text from the website about the divorce support ministry:
DivorceCare, Adults & Children (ages 6-12): This is a 13-week passage through the initial shock of divorce or separation toward finding wholeness again. It is a video and small-group discussion recovery program designed to encourage, support and provide guidance from a biblical perspective. Trained facilitators lead discussions each week that focus on healing and recovery from relational loss. For more information contact Bobbie at ###-###-####, ext. 110.

Feel free to contact me if you'd like more info!!

Irving Bible Church is AWESOME! And they have a great single parent's ministry. In fact I just returned from a Single Parent's getaway weekend. The worship is right on and it's a lovely church. www.IrvingBible.org

God bless. This is the RIGHT direction. S.

I was also brought up catholic and wanted to explore other places of worship. This church is a little out of the way for me, but I found it very accepting of anyone despite their beliefs or religious backgrounds.

Metrocrest Presbyterian Church
1265 E. Hebron Parkway
Carrollton, TX 75010

Is a great place. Check out their website for more information:

http://www.metrocrestchurch.org/

It is Presbyterian (PCA) which is conservative (vs PCUSA) and liturgical which will be more familiar to your background.
Hope that helps.
