Our friends from days before children are going to come over for dessert after they have been out to dinner (we have no babysitter so can't go with them). I am looking for suggestions for a dessert and alcoholic drink pairing...what would you serve?

Thanks!

"Spiked" hot chocolate - there are a bunch of good recipes online.

Can pair it with cookies.

Red wine or port and something very chocolatey (flourless chocolate cake, molten chocolate cake, truffles).

Moscato d'Asti (a lovely, sweetish sparkling white from northern Italy). This would go well with vanilla, peach, or other fruits.

does everyone drink? maybe consider having something without alcohol; tea, coffee, water, an alcohol free spritzer.....i have a great spritzer if you want the recipe.

I'd have whiskey, wine and then a lush chocolate cake...maybe a flourless.

Why would you pair alcohol and sweets? Coffee goes much better with dessert than liquor. Unless you want to add a liqueur such as amaretto, Bailey's or Kahlua to the coffee.

Everything is good with champagne! But champagne with a small scoop of raspberry sorbet in it is lovely! Sounds like a nice night! And maybe a fruit and cheese tray to accompany it...
