Seeking Clinics for Alternative Vaccine Schedule

I am following Dr. Sears alternative vaccine schedule, starting my daughter at one year. Since we'll be going frequently, and will quickly hit our medical limits quickly with the number of visits, someone suggested I go to a clinic for the shots (much less expensive and the same vaccines). Can anyone recommend a facility in Chicago? Wicker Park/Bucktown Area/Northside area? Please note, I do not wish to debate the vaccine issue.

although I do not know of any clinics, we vaccinated our son starting at one year, and had his vaccinations done at his regular appts. So at 1yr, 18 mo, and 2 yr. They were covered by insurance, and turns out he didn't need a lot of the vaccines because they were targeted towards children under 2.

Check out Dr. Mayer Eisenstein at Homefirst - I went to a vaccine seminar (they have one on May 5 coming up - very informative). I believe they have a Chicago office as well. The website is www.homefirst.com Good luck!

Check with your doctor. He/she may know of a clinic in your area. Also, the department of public health would probably know. But, you shouldn't have to pay/be charged for a doctor's visit each time you go in for a vaccination. The nurse should be able to administer the vaccine, so that it is, basically, a clinic visit.

I have never heard of a clinic for the shots, but as far as docs, there is a group that practices called Home First in the Chicago area. They let you decide your own vaccine schedule. They are actually family docs (not specifically peds), but they do see a lot of children. Since we're researching pediatricians right now (I'm prego), I already visited one of the docs there and he recommended all of Dr. Sears books. I saw they have an office in Chicago on Peterson/Lincoln Ave. Website is homefirst.com. Just an option!

chicago dept of health will do them. Also the Vaccine For Children Plus program can help pay for vaccinations for children who are underinsured ie have a limit on vaccination coverage or don't cover vaccines. http://www.illinoisaap.org/VFC.htm
Ask your provider if he or she is enrolled with VFC plus.
Additionally, the federally qualified health centers such as Access Community Health Network will provide this service. You can google Access to find all their locations.

at our doctor's office, if you're just coming in for a vaccine, it's considered a nurse visit and they don't charge for the doc's time. So, since our insurance covers vaccine's 100%, I dont' pay at all to come in for the extra shot visits.
