I think Canton first Mondays has great deals. I got a kitchen table, barstools, pot rack and some great accessories. Wiers has some great sale items and good quality. What are you looking for?

I echo Weir's...their clearance centers have GREAT prices if you have time to wait it out...you can find just about anything you want.

I think Weir's is one of the best places for quality and price. Both locations have clearance areas where you can get even better deals.

What kind of furniture are you looking for??? My husband repairs and refinishes furniture on the side, and also makes some furniture. We have some listed on Craigslist right now. No couches, but wood furniture like tables, benches, chairs, etc. Or he can put something together for you if you want something different from the pieces he has to work with here. He has some top-name (which I can't mention here) table tops, etc. that he can put legs or pedestals on to create the look you want. You can email me at ____@____.com if you want. His prices are really low and his work is high quality and will last forever if you take care of it. But we only take cash (just FYI if you were looking to use credit). There are some good prices out there, but remember that most of the furniture anywhere is made in China and is not solid wood. Stacy's furniture has horrible customer service. Ashley Furniture takes two weeks or longer to get your furniture and you'll be lucky if they get it right the first time and they also have horrible customer service. If I buy furniture from a store....Haverty's is my ultimate favorite! I think they also have an outlet or will sell slightly damaged or scratched furniture at a discount. I went in and was going to have to wait only 3 days for a delivery of a massage chair, but I was in so much pain and wanted it that day so they sold me the floor model for $500 less than it was marked. Ask for discounts on floor models.

D., I'm getting ready to replace nearly all the furniture in my house. I am going to go through my friend who sells at almost wholesale prices. She has her own part-time business and access to many of the lines sold at the retail stores a number of ladies recommended in their responses. The difference is she charges MUCH less! Same good quality for lots less money is a winner in my book any day and all her customers are extremely happy. She can provide you with catalogs, show you furniture, arranges for delivery and takes care of any problems that may arise. Let me know if you are interested and I'll have her contact you.

Plano Salvation Army Store on Hwy 5/Spring Creek. Show room sofas for cheap, cheap... Gotta check it out for your self. The SAS manager said they get brand new stuff from furniture places that were used in "show rooms". Good luck.

Charter Furniture in Addison is fantastic. I've used them for years. My friends like them, too. They're small, family-owned and have great prices. We like to look at Weirs then buy at Charter.

Try Stacy's as well...there is one in Grapevine & Allen. They have beautiful, name brand furniture at very good prices. I actually had a designer come & we could not find better deals anywhere....even at Market. Jeff Miller was our sales representative & he was very good. Good luck!

I know someone else did not recommend Ashley Furniture but I would disagree. We bought our furniture VERY reasonably there, and they took off some extra money because we paid for it all and did not finance through them, and we also purchased a protection plan from them so that, for 5 years, if anything happens to the furniture even if it is our fault (like if the kids write on it with Sharpie) they will either fix it or replace it no questions asked. We have already used the service and they came to our house to fix the dresser drawer within a week of us calling. If you have kids and you're hard on your furniture, it might be worth it (it is for us!) good luck.

My husband and I have used 3 places here in Dallas. We bought our bedroom set from Weirs clearance center, our entertainment center from Weirs, our recliner at Ashley furniture, and our sofa, coffee table and matching side tables at The Dump. I have been pleased with everything except the recliner. after only 1 year it looks pretty bad. Our friend got the same couch as we did in a different color at Ethan Allen and paid twice as much. We were very pleased with the selection at the dump and thier customer service was great too. Weirs clearance center has good prices too.

Good luck!

We have not had any problems with Rooms to go, we purchased our 2nd set of furniture from them last year,a sectional, and we love it. W'eve also purchased from Roomstore and had good luck. Both of the locations were the Mesquite locations. Haverty's is good quality but overpriced, so depends what exactly you are wanting from the furniture. Happy shopping!

I bought some furniture from Rooms To Go and in less than one year every single piece is broken! When I asked them to fix (like their warranty says), they said it was due to heavy use and there was nothing they could do about it and they wouldn't replace. I asked for the manufacturers name and number and they refused to tell me where it was made and where it came from.
Stay FAR away from RoomsToGo!!!!!

I hear the Dump is fantastic for selection. Haven't been there though.
Rooms to Go but really have to check the quality and be sure it is what you want. Great financing deals.

Rooms To Go Outlet on 360/I20 - fab deals and don't forget to dicker! Bought our entertainment center there in 2005, couch and chair 2003 and felt like we nearly stole the china cabinet for the price we walked away with after dickering! No financing available I think.
Haverty's for the best anywhere. Higher price Higher quality.
Dillards - great customer service and always reasonable.
Ashley's furniture - not impressed with their misleading sales tactics and no return policy.

Would recommend search engine to help find the specific item you are looking for to narrow your search and drive.

If you are looking for optimum lowest price ever - don't forget Craig's List.

Good luck and have fun furniture shopping!

so fun that you get to look for new furniture! depending on your style, IKEA is really fun and inexpensive. (it's in frisco.) www.ikea-usa.com. also, weir's (i know there's one in plano, might be some more) has BEAUTIFUL furniture and has really great deals! when we walked in for the first time, we thought, "whatever! there's no way we can afford anything in here!" but we could! make sure you look in the clearance room for incredible prices. then there are always places like ashley and rooms to go and stuff like that. the dump is good for neat finds and wharehouse prices. it's a bit of a drive though and i'd take a good part of the day to look through all the stuff.

have fun shopping!

Stacy's in Grapevine! Good brands at good prices, usually big sales. I've been to Weir's several times - like their showroom but never found anything. We've bought several items from Stacy's and have been very happy with the service. They even offer free child care for an hour of uninterrupted showroom browsing.

Oops, I posted this without reading others responses...I guess Weirs is well known.
Check out Weirs Clearance Center. Weirs has 3 DFW locations, each location has a clearance center. We have had great luck there. The furniture is very nice quality. Of course the regular Weirs sales floors have great furniture too, just a little more expensive. The locations are Dallas (on Knox, near 75), Plano (on Preston near Spring Creek) and in Southlake (not sure where). Good luck.

We have purchased a lot of good quality pieces from Weir's as well. They stand by their product and services.

I see you mentioned price...Weir's is good for that. I would steer clear of the cheap shops because you will jsut be making the investment again in a few years. I am a believer in you get what you pay for and buy the absolute best you can afford at the time.

If you want some custom beautiful furniture.....Amish Furniture Showcase is awesome. We bought our breakfast and dining set there. It is expensive but you get very top end high quality hand made furniture from the Amish in Ohio area. They have a showroom in Frisco on the NW side of Gaylord/Preston.

The pieces we have will be in our family for years to come. Also, if you move, get transferred, etc.... and the stain does not match at your new home...they will take it and re-stain to match at a very reasonable fee. Also, if it is damaged, they will send it back to the maker and it will be repaired. Great service.

Good luck!

If you want really well made furniture that will last for years try Weirs (Knox/75), Charters (Midway/Belt Line) or Bassett (Park (Plano)/75). I've gone looking at all the places and always end up at one of these places. Don't expect a whole bedroom for $1k at these places, but do expect to hold on to the furniture for a really long time since they are well made and do not fall apart even with moving. Great customer service with all too!

Hi D.,

The best place to find new, used and antique furniture at a great price is at the Vineyard's Antique mall at 4701 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville...I have been a customer and a dealer there for years and it is a great place to find good quality at a very low price.

Good Luck!

I like Ikea, though it has it's drawbacks. The store is in Frisco and is this huge multi-level maze with a cafeteria..odd. But they have an excellent selection at very good prices. You will most likely have to put the items together yourself..Now that I am writing about it, I would say go to Weirs..:)

Stacy's Outlet in Grapevine. I bought all of our living room and office furniture there (two couches, two large chairs, end tables, TV armoire, coffee table, large wrap around desk with overhead book shelf and matching filing cabinet.....couches and chairs are leather and the rest is cherry wood). I get compliments about my furniture every time someone new comes into my house! I've asked my close friends what they thought I had spent on the furniture and their guesses are always $10,000 or more.....I always get a kick out of seeing their jaws drop when I tell them I only spent a little under $5,000...the pieces are just that nice!

Weirs has great furniture and they have been around for a very long time. I also like Ashley's and Stacy's. If you have small children, you may want to stay away from high price items and select things you can replace when they are older.

More words of caution. Rooms to Go has good prices and payment plans but that old adage you get what you pay for holds true. The furniture quality is fair to low budget and often doesn't last as long as the long term payment plan when buying their soft sided furniture like chairs, couches, dinning chiars, etc. There are a lot of stores having big sales right now like Freeds, Bakers, etc...The quality is a lot better. You might also check the DUMP near Grapevine Mills. There are also several upscale furniture consignment stores to consider. Good luck & happy shopping.

I have had great luck with Stacys in Southlake and they have offered to price match in the past. Haverty's also has a great selection of nice quality furniture, but not the cheapest place around. Also try Charter. They have a couple of locations but I go to the one near Northeast Mall. The best home office furniture around by far and the prices couldn't be beat.

Just keep in mind that you often get what you pay for. Often the cheaper stores have the cheaper furniture.

Another place you might try is Pennneys or Macys. I've purchased some nice things from them also, but their selections are not as big.

One more tip: If you don't see exactly what you want on the showroom floor, be sure to ask. The store can often order what you want from the manufacturer at similar prices.
