Jungle Java is a fun place for a party--we had my daughter's party there for her 3rd b-day and she loved it.

My daughter will be turning 3 in a month, are there any suggestions on an affordable party location in the Detroit Metro area or suburbs? I have already been to Chucky Cheese and didn't really want to have it at home again.

Consider gigglebeans.net or kiddieklub.com. Both places are a lot of fun!
There are a lot of those bouncer places popping up around the Metro area. There is also a playground equipment sales place that offers parties in their showroom. Check goCitykids.com for area party places and ideas.
My son is turning 3 in a few months as well and I've been thinking about a place in Plymouth called Creatopia. They have ceramics that the kids paint themselves and can keep.
I haven't totaly decided to have it here yet, but I've been thinking about it.

Good Luck!
Bobby's Bouncers is located in Wayne on Michigan Ave. not far from I275. It is a wonderful alternative to Chuck E Cheese! They have an indoor facility that is full of air inflatables that would cost a fortune to rent. The building is air-conditioned so they don't get nauseatingly hot like outside parties. They also have a game area that is FREE (NO TOKENS!!) Air hockey, foos ball, basketball shootout, skeeball, moonwalk obstacle course, moonwalk slide, and more all included in the price. The price includes up to 20 kids!!! Parties last 2 hours (or more if you pay by the hour), and the children get 1 hour and 15 minutes in the moonwalk room, then they are transitioned out into a party room that is already decorated and set up. They get 45 minutes to eat pizza and drinks that are part of the price and open presents. After the children have eaten, they are NOT allowed back in with the climbers. They don't want kids getting sick and parents having to try to chase down their kids inside an obstacle course. My niece had her 4th birthday there and LOVED it. Now my daughter is having her 7th birthday party there next week. It allows a good span of ages to have fun together at the same location and still be safe. Have fun!

At this age the party is still more for the parents than the child so why not have it at home again with just family members and a couple of same age friends or, if your daughter has a lot of friends just arrange to meet them all at a local park and take a cake along to share. My daughter will also be 3 next month and, although she knows lots of kids from daycare she only really has 3 friends, one of whom is her cousin. Keep it simple for now, you have plenty of years ahead when she will be providing you lists of who she wants, where she wants to go and what she wants to eat.

Try a dance or gymnastics party. Call local gyms with tumble tots programs or a childrens dance studio. I know Dance for Fun in Lake Orion will do just about anything you like, depending upon how much you want to spend. Talk to Cindy the owner.
