A.S.
I have heard good things a daycare called Country Home I think. I would have put my 16 month old in it but it's expensive and I found a great home daycare near my home.
My girls were at home with a nanny until April 4th.
Now that they are close to being 2 and 1/2 yrs this June and our nanny found something else to do, we are looking for a structured school or child care facility from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Right now I have them in a day care close to my house and which is also on the way to my work. My education started in a boarding school since age 4 until i was in the 5th grade. My parents wanted their kids to get good education and be independent. Which I am now thanks to them. So i always imagined my kids going to a private school minus the Boarding school part :). I think my life was hard and tough. So right now i am looking for something where the teachers and facilities/centre are excellent. And they also get the love and care and also should have a enriched curriculum, which they are missing a lot after being at home. Should give personal attention with discipline and kindness to the growing kids. I am looking for a center/school where education, play, food and social skills are given great and equal importance. Something around 78216, 78230 or 78248 zip codes. Also if the place is excellent i don't mind driving, but preferably for not more than 1/2 hr.
Thanks moms. I appreciate your responses.
I think I am basically having a problem with the day cares itself.
Even this day care my girls have great teaches, the teacher child is 1:11 and they are not getting much personal attention. They have been sick all these 2 weeks.
I know this happens anywhere they go 'cause they need to develop immunity.
I wish I could take care of them at home, but i need to work.
I thought after the twins were home for 27 months it should be easy to adapt to the school environment. That's the reason i didn't look for another nanny. But the problem with the day care i have is it’s not setup to give personal attention. It looks like a kinder garden school to me. I think the kids need the personal attention until they start kinder garden (5 yrs old). Do any of you moms have this issue? Do you know a place/school where they have 1:6 teacher child ratio and the teacher and the facility are excellent? I am so afraid to send my girls to a home day care because i don't know anybody personally or none of my friends have sent their kids to a home day care.
Please advice.

both my boys now go to the country home on NW military it is a little expensive but great and they keep the kids so entertained all day long that they are ready to eat, bathe and go to sleep early. good luck!
My 16 month old goes to Luv-n-Care on the corner of Lockhill Selma and Huebner - also very convenient to 1604. The facility is new, bright and clean, and I believe all the teachers are required to have a degree and two years of childcare experience to be qualified to work there. They have a monthly calendar of activities and use the High-Reach curriculum. Last week the entire center had a Fiesta parade and all the kids participated in age appropriate ways. The staff is very friendly and seem to know all the kids by name as they come and go. The kids seem happy coming and going. There are a few other locations as well. Here's their website: http://luvncarecenters.com/
I know a family who sends their girls, ages 3 and 5, to the Montessori school over near Shavano Park. They've both been going there since they were 18 months old and they both seem to love it.
