Seeking a Game Design Summer Camp

I live in Kennesaw, but am willing to travel a reasonable distance to ensure that my sons are in a good game design camp this summer. I've been online searching, but they all are very expensive and the distance from my home/office is pretty far. My sons are 9 and 14. I'm not seeking overnight camps, but a day camp that starts around 8 or 9 am and lasts until about 5 or 7 pm. Any advice on a reasonably-priced program?

What can I do next?

Hi C. - I used the Cherokee Outdoor Camp when my girls were younger. This is part of the Cheroke YMCA. They loved it. It was very reasonably priced. I think that the camp goes from 9-4 - however, they have after and before camp care. I do not think that it was extra. I live on the east side of 75 in North Cobb Cty. So it was not too bad of a drive for me. They use to have a bus that would pick them up also and Bells Ferry and 92. Good luck - I was always struggled with summer care for my girls!

Hi, I sent my son to a game design camp last year that was terrible, don't use the one called 'summer science camps'. I don't know of a good camp for that but here is a link to a great program that teaches programming concepts through small game development. The little games you create in it require you to solve real programming problems and when you are done you can publish it to the web site for others to play. Just download the installer and run it. It will put an icon on the desktop to run from then on.

I know there are some camps (maybe not in our area) that use this application in their program, which I would recommend.
