S.,
I am familiar with an office called, ADD-ADHD Wellness Center in North Dallas. They will test for ADD/ADHD for FREE. They work with a wellknown neurologist in North Dallas. He will look at the test and recommend the # of treatments. The treatments can be taken at the Wellness Center and it costs ALOT less $$$.

Rather than treating the symptoms with medication, the treatments actually RETRAIN the brain. It is a SOLUTION to ADD/ADHD. I have seen first hand a 6 yr. old who was "off the wall" become a normal little boy. I also know an adult who has gone to this center and CAN function in the work world. His personal and professional life have greatly improved!!!

The treatments use a computer and headphones to retrain the brain. The ADD Wellness Center can be reached at; ###-###-####. Ask for Ditt. Good luck to you and your other family members.

Sincerely,
K.

Good morning, S.,
Call Ditt Welch at the Oxygen Sciences Clinic ###-###-####.
He treated my husband for adult ADD and really helped him.
His clinic is near Preston & 635 in Dallas.
He uses a therapy called neurofeedback which retrains the brain and teaches you to overcome many of the challenges of ADD/ADHD and, best of all, no pills, no drugs!
I was skeptical at first, but it really works and definitely helped my husband.
Good luck!

Hi S.,
I would like to second calling Ditt Welch at Oxygen Sciences. I have known Ditt for a couple of years and recently had my son tested who is now 19. He was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. He is a smart kid however he never really paid attention in class...it's no wonder he graduated with good grades. My Son is seeing a big imporovement as well as I am Hallelujah:) Ditt is a great guy and really knows his stuff. The best part no drugs, no pills, not shots and it will last a lifetime not just a short time. I really feel self assured that my son will have a much better future. He has enlisted in to the Navy and will be leaving in May 2010.

It doesn't cost you anything go talk with him...so what do you have to lose. I hope you go.

My son has done neurofeedback therapy at both Dr. Jonathan Walker's clinic and with a private counselor Rusty Lozano. Dr. Walker's office takes BCBS. www.neurotherapydallas.com The Clements Clinic in Plano is another option for neurotherapy; I'm not sure what insurance they accept, if any. Dr. Walker won't do a lot of coaching, and in my opinion, he over-promises the results of neurotherapy. However, my son DID improve, and I appreciated that my insurance paid for the QEEG (brain map) and the therapy.

Have you read, "Delivered from Distraction"? It gives some very practical suggestions for adults living with ADHD as well as describing the ADHD brain in very positive terms. You have to harness your strengths and minimize your weaknesses. My husband and son are ADHD, so I understand their challenges second hand. Being a SAHM, and therefore in charge of creating order in my family's life, is hard for me sometimes (and I am a fundamentaly logical, patient, organized, and scheduled soul). Don't be too hard on yourself if you're having a hard time getting your groove as a SAHM. It's not an easy job for anyone!

Good luck,
S.

For those who recommended Ditt Welch- I would not recommend this man. He has the raunchiest, foul mouth. It needs to be washed out with a bar of the old fashioned, yellow Dial soap like my mother would have done. Even if he does have good knowledge his mouth is so disgusting that it ruins it all.
