Have you ever had a secret you couldn't even tell Mamapedia? I feel horrible every time I write a question, like now, because the voice in the back of my head is saying ne ner ne ner ne ner You can't tell ANYONE! Not even your trusted girls.... How do you ladies keep your secrets even though all you need is someone to talk to. but at the same time anyone you can talk to even the people who dont know you would know your crazy. I know this doesnt make sence but uhg....
So the only question I want you to answer or worry about is how do you keep your mouth shut?
It's easy to keep my mouth shut. This is a website full of strangers on the internet. I'm happy to share what I do share, but there's no way I would share what was confidential to myself or someone else. It's pretty much the equivalent of putting it on a billboard downtown.
'even' mamapedia?
if i had a secret that i was dying to share i'd either find a totally uninvolved and trustworthy friend, or just settle for writing it down and then burning it.
i'm not a very secretive person (my face gives everything away, i really couldn't lie even if i wanted to) but i AM a private person.
what i wouldn't post on MP could fill volumes.

I am bar none the worst lier on earth! You would be a darn fool to tell me anything you think someone could possibly ask me. What I mean is I won't tell a secret just for sport, but if someone asks where was so and so yesterday, well so and so better not have told me if that was a secret!
So far as anything I post or read here, everyone who knows me knows. I just don't keep things secret.
The only time I hide a post here is when I am bragging on Troy cause I don't want him to think I am always bragging about him. :)

You're kidding, right? "Ever had a secret you couldn't even tell Mamapedia"??? If it's a secret, the LAST place you would put it would be on line where your name and city are listed! Uh no. If you can't tell anyone, you need a completely anonymous/private place, like a therapist's or doctor's office. Internet is the absolutely last place you put anything you don't want to come back to you!
I tell my dogs EVERYTHING. None of them has ever told a secret! and they always have such a sympathetic look on their faces....
I would never post a secret on the internet. The internet doesn't actually feel anonymous to me. (It's not.)
With that said, I must be super boring. I don't really have secrets.
Is your secret bad, or just not yours to share? (rhetorical question.) If it's "bad," you may need to see a counselor or someone neutral.
My job security is dependent upon me being able to keep a lot of hot burning news secret, usually forever. It was a hard skill to learn at first, but I finally realized that no one would 'gain' anything from learning what I know. They might have some good gossip material, but IMHO, gossip is usually destructive. And if I ever get the urge to purge, I ask myself "What would I gain by telling someone?" Other than a good giggle shared or a moment of being the center of a conversation, nothing is to be gained.
I';m with Jo I cant lie (except for the occassional "a friend from work" nstead of mamapedia because I feel dorky) and tell everyone everything pretty much everything. So I wouldjust get it off my chest if I were you. secrets stink! they are not good for stress levels and so on
also who cares who thinks you're crazy . I already do so your post wont change much=) but I think I am crazy as well so ehhhh....crazy is normal in my book
I tell the secret to myself, out loud, so many times that I'm tired of talking about it and am not tempted to repeat it yet again to anyone.
Sounds silly, but it works for me!

I don't post anything on here or ANYWHERE that I wouldn't want my mom or kids to read.
If the secret is **THAT** bad? Go talk to your priest, pastor or rabbi for guidance!!

I don't. I've learned NOT to keep my mouth shut when it comes to "secrets" and of course, that depends on what it is. I hold confidentiality for others, but secrets grow in the dark.
I also have fantastic friends to let it all hang out. Even if they judge, they love me, as me, and I've got some crazy doozies. I am judicious re: who I tell what to as some friends are best for the good times and others I can be as vulnerable as a baby. Took me a long time to figure out whom to say what to.
And besides, we're all crazy!
It sounds like you might need to go talk to a counselor. If you feel horrible everytime you ask a question, you have some deep seated fears that you need to talk through with someone. Choose a professional.
I hope it will make you feel better and figure out that not everything that is hard to talk about fits the bill of being a "secret".
