On my child's school supply list, it calls for a box of map pencils. What are those? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
colored pencils. Crayola has good, smooth ones. :)
Map pencils are the same as color pencils. They are easier to color with in small spaces and you can still see through the color to read names of states, regions, etc.

To me, they are pretty much a little more expensive, pencil color. My son still draws at the age of 23, and says they have a softer lead and they have better color. I had to get them at an art supply. What grade is your child in? My daughter is going to the 7th and has to have regular pencil colors. However, she did a lot of map coloring last year. Hope this helps,
