I need help lady's what would the benefits be to having a day care center at your job site? it is for a school assignment , I just started taking online classes to enrich myself. your help would be appreciated. ohh what if i added a nurse to tend to sick children .

1. For new mom's they would have the benefit of still being able to breastfeed there child at lunch.
2. Moms could vist and play with their children at lunch.
3. Commute to work easier, as parents would not need to drop off kids at another daycare in the morning.
4. No need to rush out of work, because you have to pickup your child at daycare by 6pm.

2. ease of drop off (O. destination in the morning as opposed to two!)
3. possibility of payroll deduction option to pay for the care
4. Quick pick up in case of emergency or illness
There is no better job than one that has an onsite day care. When my kids were babies, I would nurse them at lunch time. It meant one less pumping per day and I got to see them. I visited them at lunch every day after they were weaned. It gave me piece of mind and they loved seeing me. Visiting once in awhile can be problematic for some kids due to separation anxiety. It worked for me because I visited every day. Another advantage to onsite care is reduced stress and time savings because drop off and pick up are much easier and quicker.
The points that other mamas brought us were absolutely right! I was fortunate to find a daycare that is only 1 mile from my work. Of couse, we pay for the convenience, but it worth it! The first couple of weeks, I went to visit at lunch to nurse. After that, I'd go see her once a month and take her "out" for lunch. Also, when they have events (holiday parties, meals, etc) I can actually attend. My biggest complaint is when the baby gets sick. With all the flu scares, any time a child has a fever, they must be picked up immediately and cannot return until they have been fever-free for 24 hours! If my job had on-site childcare, it would ease a lot of the burden of taking off work for parties and events, tneding to her when she's sick, and making the commute much more convenient.

The other answers were great. One major benefit for the employer is employee retention and loyalty. It is a valuable perk. Plus if there is a nurse there with a separate "sick" room there will be less employee absentism. If there are extended hours or 24 hour availability, employees would be able to work late or different shifts without any worries. 24 hour or extended day care is very hard to find.
One other thing, the insurance for on-site day care is very expensive. Contracting it out to a chain is probably a better solution. I was part of group with a previous employer that looked into on-site day care for the employees.
