What is your routine? If u don't do chores then ...then when do you? My kids get up before me. Old enough to turn on tv and grab cereal if needed. And I'm starting to get lazy. I need a kick start.

I tend not to be the best a keeping up with housework so i'm experimenting with what might work better for us. I either need to get up 2 hours before them or find other times to vaccum, change sheets, do laundry, scrub down kitchen and bathrooms and pick up a ton of debris.

What can I do next?

As a SAHM with teenagers Saturday's just another day for us (especially now that school is out) and the real housework (mopping, toilets, dusting, etc.) is NOT done by the kids because I am very particular about how those jobs are done!
Chores are done as needed. Kids make a mess, they clean it up. Sunday night they take the garbage cans down to the street. They do laundry when they start running out of clothes. Rabbit cage and cat box gets cleaned over the weekend, no later than Sunday night. When I bring home a carload of groceries they help me bring it in. I usually have at least one kid helping with dinner, and, if they are extra motivated to earn a little cash, we may have them wash one of the cars or do some yard work. I'm sure there's more but these are the main things that come to mind right now.
So I guess you could say the "chores" are pretty integrated into our daily routine, and we have plenty of flexibility for days we just feel like being lazy (like yesterday's heat wave) or days we feel like taking off to the beach :-)

Totally depends on how our week went as to what we do on Saturdays. Sometimes it is a full day of doing all the things we couldn't do all week. Other times we're all caught up and run out to play. Other times we look at what should be done, say not gunna happen, and run out the door and play anyway.
Saturdays also get set aside for larger projects that need to be done around the house when needed.
It's rare that Saturdays are just sitting around, lazing about.

I (try) to do everything on Saturday because I get free electricity on Saturdays. So I crank the AC down to about 65, do the laundry, vacuuming, etc while it's free. Then during the week I do just enough to keep the house in some sort of order.

In fact, gotta go put the first load in the dryer!!!!

I do some on Sat mornings and the balance on Sunday mornings. Hubby is great at helping so we spend a couple of hours each morning and it all gets done. We do, however, make GD help. And if your kids are old enough to get their own cereal, they are old enough to help.

They can clean the sink and toilet in the bathroom and empty the garbage.

Pick up the "ton of debris" and put it away for you.

Pull the dirty sheets off their beds and take them to the appropriate place.

Separate their own laundry and then put it away when it's done.

hmm, I'm a bit like Mamazita, we don't do "chores" every Saturday. But what I WANT to do every Saturday? Wake up at 9, go downstairs, make a cup of coffee, put my feet up and watch the morning news. Doesn't happen enough!! My kids help out whenever they are asked with whatever they are asked to do.

We are a lot more structured during the week and get most of our cleaning done then. For us, weekends are for relaxing and fun, for the most part.
Saturday mornings I have to pick up our produce from our co-op around 8 am, so I will usually do that, grocery shop and run errands. This is the only time of week I don't have kids with me. Then I will usually clean out the fridge and put all the food away and write a meal plan for the week. Surf the net, drink my coffee, do a little picking up around the house as needed. Then I will usually do a workout, take care of things like pedicure or dying my hair or at-home facial. The rest if the time we relax.

I had a plan and its failed so here it is.
Get up when I wake up: 5-6 and do Bathrooms, Kitchen, Living Room and Laundry. Then when light breaks, go outside and do some gardening and when i get bored with that have fun the rest of the day.
I try to get all my cleaning done on Thursdays. My husband is out so its easier to clean things. I don't have to make a huge dinner either so that helps. I try to pickup during the week as I can.

For me since I am a SAHM it tends to really be no different that any other day. My days always start at the computer. If I don't I never get the chance.
