i am a lactating mother and me and my baby caught flu
my child is taking an antibiotic;
Can i take antibiotic while that?

I would go on line www.kellymom.com has information about what is safe. Or Google the name of the antibiotic and breastfeeding. I would not want to double dose my baby. And I would consider probiotics for your child as well (yogurt with live and active cultures, for instance).
Typically they don't presribe antibiotics for the flu (they don't help with viruses, which is what causes the flu).

check with your doc. I took a sulfa based antibiotic while breastfeeding. Unfortunately I found out I was highly allergic to sulfa drugs.

ask the pharmacist. really the question is, if you don't take it, will you not get better? if its the same antibiodic i bet you can.

This is the sort of question you need to ask the doctor. Call the dr who prescribed the antibiotic for your baby.

I don't understand why you'd need to take an antibiotic. It is rare to take one with the flu. It is caused by a virus which does not respond to antibiotics. I have taken an antibiotic with the flu because I also had a strep infection or when my immune system was compromised as a preventative measure against getting a bacterial infection.
