Hello moms. Two quick questions I am now in my 2nd trimester and having potty issues and hemroid issues (which I alway have) does anyone know if Ben-i-fiber (spelling?) Is safe for me to take so I can get back on track. Also MY HAIR IS SCREAMING!!! I need a dye job bad its been a long time I need to get it done once and prolly won't need it again till after the baby. I am hearing as long as you are out of the 1st trimester your ok and to do it in a salon setting, which I plan to. Just wondering what your thoughts are. Thanks :)

What can I do next?

My doctor actually suggested to me to use benefiber when I was pregnant my first time and having difficulties going to the bathroom...also on the hair problem...I had a relaxer put in my hair and then got my hair dye..not all on the same day...but what I am saying is I asked my salon lady and she said it's just mostly a rumor but you will be fine..I now have two children and had relaxers (which are chemicals) both times in my pregnancies and they are fine...so I think you should be ok.

I don't know about the fiber (ask your doctor). As far as the hair goes, both of my OB/GYNs assured me that it's perfectly safe to have your hair dyed/highlighted. Make a date with your stylist and have a day of beauty, mama! :)

ETA: I didn't have trouble with my hair color coming out any differently while pregnant, BUT I am a natural blond, so for the most part they are stripping color from my hair rather than adding it in. For whatever that's worth.

Dye your hair!

Ask your doc about the fiber, this can only be answered on a case by case basis, but usually it's ok.

No experience on the Benefiber. I resumed highlights in the second trimester without any issues. I don't think I am an attractive pregnant lady so for me nice hair was something I especially enjoyed during my pregnancy! lol

Be aware that dyeing your hair right now - due to the hormones and everything in your system the color will probably not be "right" It took months after breastfeeding for my hair to accept the dye correctly, you may want to talk to your stylist about a glaze treatment instead.

Well... hair dye usually doesn't "stick" while you're pregnant. Sometimes you can get it to last a few days or a week or two... but most of the time the shaft is so clogged that it just won't take. Most of the time dying your hair WILL soften the line between the "dyed v undyed" portions of your hair, but the color is going to fade, and fast, if it even takes at all (it will often come out splotchy).

You know the "mom cut"? That's not 100% convenience of short hair. That's OFTEN exactly 10 months of hair growth so your hair is only 1 color instead of 2.

Some women get lucky, so go ahead and try, but for most... dying doesn't work again until your hair starts falling out in handfuls post baby. Wheeeee. She ES we go through for these kids :)

I used it but them read the bottle and it says to ask your doctor if you are pregnant or nursing. So I think you are better off sticking to prunes and probiotics. It is safe to dye your hair but do it in a well ventalated room and try semi-perm.

Benefiber should be fine.
Some women will dye their hair while pregnant.
I didn't.
Try to find a PPD (Para-Phenylenediamine) free dye, but most of them have it.
My hair was pretty wonderful when I was pregnant.
Afterward a lot fell out and it was thin and limp for awhile before it was back to it's old self.

Benifiber is just psylium husks. I would think strait fiber is fine its not a chemical.
