Safe Mosquito Bite Relief for 9 Month Old

Any mamas know of a safe mosquito bite relief for my nine month old? Poor kid was outside for less than twenty minutes and has, at last count, thirteen bites on his legs. He takes after me and the bites welt up and seem to last forever. They don't seem to be itching him too much, buy they and the surrounding area are red.

And while we are on this topic, do you know of any baby safe mosquito repellant too? We live in Florida and there are so many Mosquitos they should be the state bird!

What can I do next?

Give him a bath in baking soda water. If it still looks all red and swollen make a paste of baking soda and water and put on the bites. I get the same way with any bug bite. I keep a small bottle of baking soda (like an empty spice bottle) in my car during the spring and summer for bug bite remedies.

The target one is Lafes organic insect repellent... I tried to make sure it worked after I posted and it isn't for me, so just making sure you have the product name in case it doesn't for you.

Benedryl spray. I keep one in my car, purse and kids bag. Look for it by the neosporan sprays. It's not cheap around $5 but it will stop the itch.
You could try Avon's skin so soft with bugguard. Works great and that is what I used on my daughter at that age.

After bite is good. It's just ammonia, and once you roll it on, just make sure it dries before letting the little one go. Not only will the itching be relieved tremendously, but the bite will go down fast--a few days at most. We just found out about it a year ago, but I now keep one in my purse.

Bug Block by American Botanical Pharmacy created by Dr. Schultz is great for preventing mosquito bites. The smell is strong, but it REALLY works!

I saw on here a while ago to use pure vanilla extract about 1 part to 10 parts water as a mosquito repellant it's natural and no harsh smell or chemicals. I tried it out last summer and thought it worked pretty well. Just for future reference :)
