Use baby wipes - used on my wedding dress day of wedding & it also takes crayon off walls w/o removing paint!
Hello everyone. My 3 year old son has been on quite the artistic one lately. He's been drawing on his wall w/ both markers and crayons lately and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or solutions for their removal?

Since you got a bunch of responses already I will tell you what my cousin once told me.
Toothpaste and the toothbrush of the child that did it ;)
Happy Holidays :)

Hi S.,
For crayon I have used the white erasers from Mr. Clean! Good luck I would love to know markers though!!! I have some marker art on my hard wood floor!!!
Hi S.:)
I have the same problem, my grandson thought the walls were made for art projects! I have found a company that has wonderful products that take anything off, and they are non-toxic! You will love them!
Check out my website, and I will be able to tell you more.

great products that will take marker off of pictures, without destroying them.

S.,
If you have a type of paint on your walls that can be washed a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will do the trick. If you've got flat paint, you'll probably have to paint over it with "Kilz" primer/sealer and then repaint.
The store brand magic erasers work just as well. Hide those Sharpee markers though. Nothing will take those off.

Use a hair dryer to heat up the wax from the crayons, then wipe it up. It's that simple, I learned it from watching "How Clean is Your House?" it's a show on BBC-America. That that I have too much time for TV with a two year old, but I record it and watch it when I have some time. Works on stickers too. For markers try spraying the mark with hairspray and use a soft cloth to wipe it up.
Sol-U-Mel really does works Wonders for Crayons on the walls as well as so many other tough stains...

A bottle of Vinegar and water, a scotch brite sponge and some elbow grease is what worked for me.
Magic Eraser works like a charm! I know this from LOTS of experience. Good luck.
nail polish remover works well too but may take paint off
Hi Girl! Try Mr.Clean magic eraser or awsome spray (u can find it @ the 99 cent store. It worked for me.

I don't have a solution for the removal, but once you get it off, you could try what I did. I have a 2 1/2 yr old boy and he loves to draw. I put construction paper all around the bottom of his bedroom and let him know that that is the only place he is allowed to draw. He loves to walkd around from wall to wall and draw his pictures then calls for me to come look at his masterpiece.
The magic eraser by Mr. Clean works well for me.
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work wonders... even on flat wall paint!
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - it worked wonders with my niece and nephew. Good luck!
Yes, we deal with this a lot. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges take it right off with hardly any effort, but don't let the little ones help cleaning with them as the chemicals can hurt sensitive little hands.
Hi there - I remember those fun times - discovering sharpie all over the house! I used the Mr Clean Magic Eraser for the walls and kitchecn drawers - it worked well.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. They work like a miracle, even on walls.
My daughter did the same thing about a year ago. I used Sol-U-Mel from Melaleuca and it came right off. Infact I had her help me (since it is safe for her to use). Good Luck!
Uggh! Invest in an art easel with butcher paper and teach him where he can draw to his hearts content! Ikea has great little inexpensive easels for chalk, paper drawing/painting and also has a dry erase board.
try Mr Clean Magic Erasers.
Magic erasers will remove almost anything.
I have had good luck removing crayons with the Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean!
Good luck...

You might want to try Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They work especially well if your wall paint is satin or glossy finish. They might lighten the paint a little bit if you use them on flat paint. They work like a charm for us! And they're really great because we have used them on all kinds of surfaces in our home. Good Luck!!
formula 409 works, as well as soft scrub. magic eraser is good too.
Hi S.,
My kids haven't hit their "artistic" stride on my walls yet, but a friend of mine came home to Sharpie drawings on her walls. She tried everything! Baby wipes worked the best. Good luck.
Mr. Clean Magic Erasers work wonders in my house and don't seem to take the paint off the wall.
My best suggestion is to try a magic eraser. I use them often to clean up little messes here and there around the house that the kids do before daddy comes home from work. LOL! Be sure to do it with it dry first, I find it works better but if you have furniture around that you want to look new again, use it damp and wipe the whole surface. My tables look awesome these days!
Best of luck to you!
Oh, sometimes nail polish remover will take off marker too.
Mr Clean Magic Erasers were my lifesavers!
Hi S.!
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser...it's amazing and removes EVERYTHING!!!

Hi S.,
The Crayola website has a whole section on stain removal. Here's the link: www.crayola.com/canwehelp/staintips/index.cfm
Mr. Clean magic eraser!!!!!!
Mr. Clean magic erasers work wonders. Things I couldn't get off with any other cleaning product come off with the eraser. They are AMAZING!!!
Mr erasure from Mr Clean, it looks like a sponge but you dont get it wet, well you dampen it a tiny tiny bit, just rub on the crayons all gone, its a mircle sponge I tell you !!!!!!
Have you tried the "eraser" sponges in the housecleaning aisle? That might work with the crayons. The markers...I don't know.
I know one family that lined the bottom half of their walls with white boards to combat this issue. On the other hand, I teach high school kids and they like to doodle on everything. So, I put up butcher paper in all their favorite doodle spots and the doodling stopped. I guess it was the destructive, illicit nature of the practice that appealed to them. Go figure! <wink>
Good luck!
Mr. Clean magic erasers work wonderfully! Just don't let your little guy get ahold of them...
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!
MR Clean magic eraser gets everything off the wall.
I agree with Tammi about the sol-u-mel, great product, but if you do no have sol-u-mel, then try hair spray. Before I found out about Melaleuca and their wellness products, the hair spray worked well for my kids inner artist. If there is alot of art work on the wall from the kids, open a window are turn on a fan, the fumes from hair spray can be over powering and some time caustic as well. Hope this helps
Mr clean magic eraser
Two words....Magic Eraser. We use it at church, in the kinder classes I used to work in and I use them at home. My sis in law uses them with her 4 kids all the time and everything comes off.
Best of Luck!
Mr. Clean "magic eraser" removes anything!
Buy several, it's worth it!
Or, regular ol' rubbing alcohol. This removes paint too, so be careful and test first.
Good luck,
Susan
Go to the Crayola website. They have instructions for crayon on just about anything. My daughter took a black crayon to our white couch when she was two. Crayola recommended WD40, which I thought was insane, but it worked like a charm--good as new! Go to the source!
Well alot of elbow grease:) Also I have a suggestion, when my kids were little I put a large Paper or a full roll of paper from the kids store. I put it in their room and I told them mommie wanted art from them to keep but they could only paint draw or etc on this 4 walls on the paper. Any other side of the house was off limits. That helped the problem till know my kids want to write on a paper they asked if its needed or is it ok to write on it or not. I hope this helps you.
