I have recently moved my family to the 75001 zip code and am looking for a nondenominational church home. It would be really nice if there was a childrens church/ministry there also. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I am actually now sure where that is. My nondenominational church is on Churchill Way between Preston and Hillcrest (just south of 635. Is that close to you? If so we have a great youth group and children's ministry. It is a small church but there are a lot of young families!

We attend Fellowship Bible Church Dallas on Park at North Central Expressway. You can check them out at www.fellowshipdallas.org It is non-denominational and we love it. The pastor is very solid and a great preacher. The worship service is fabulous with very good music. The children and youth ministries are also great. If that is too far (and it doesn't take long to get there) check into Fellowship Bible Church Arapaho. We are not officially connected but the churches were founded by the same pastor.

Hi S., I don't know where 75001 is but there is a wonderful church I attend and am a member of in Southlake, TX, called Gateway Church, pastor Robert Morse. They also have a satellite church in North Richland Hills. They also have a wonderful children's ministry, youth, singles, men, women, professional women, missionary, and elderly groups and lots of training classes to learn God's word and be grounded in it to live a victorious life. It has small groups all over that meet weekly that help you connect to other families that you can develop godly relationships with and learn God's word and pray for one another. It is a church that is very community minded and family oriented. I pray God leads you to a good church home for you and your family.

Try Prince of Peace at the intersection of Midway and International Parkway. http://www.princeofpeace.org/church/index.htm We've been members there since we moved to Texas. They just hired a Director of Family and Children's ministry. And in the last two years the second floor has been redesigned to create KidZone; a worship center fully committed to our youth. Take a look at JAM and ROC for your teen and preteen; and the mission opportunities for kids in that age range.

There are three distinct worship styles:
8:00 Traditional with liturgy, choir, organ.
9:30 & 11 Contemporary praise led by a praise and worship team/band
9:30 EPIC which is held in Studio 6 right now as we build the new cultural arts center - you'll notice the construction. EPIC has less structure. And is formatted for young families - which is not to say that older folks don't enjoy it as well.

If you happen to come this week please stop by after either of the contemporary services and say "Hi." I'm part of the team that is singing.

Ed Young is the pastor there & he is down to earth & ON FIRE. He also is on TV. The Music is great for your Teen & Pre-teen, plus they have a place for your Toddler that I have heard good things about. I am telling you to please go ONE time & you not want to go anywhere else! Check out their web site for all they have avail. I am sure you will LOVE this place & I know your children will!!!!

Try Covenant Church in Carrollton. It's right off Trinity Mills and close to the Addison area. Very diverse with a great children's ministry and active singles ministry too. There are also Life Teams (small groups) that you can become a part of even without being a member. I'm a single mom too and its been a great place to be fed, to learn and to grow for my family.

Bent Tree Bible Fellowship (Marsh Lane just south of Hebron). www.btbf.org Everyting about them is awesome; the pastor, the people, the music, the ministries, etc. After one visit you'll want to go again - after the second visit you'll be hooked! :)

S.,

I know this is further than you would want, but Celebration Covenant in Frisco is AWESOME!!!! Your kids will LOVE it.

They children's ministry is completely set up for them to want to come to church. They do skits and dress up in funny ways to get the message across. This is perfect for your pre-teen and especially suited for boys. There is a rock climbing wall and video games for them. Wendy Harmon who leads the ministry is AMAZING with children and they REALLY get it.

My daughter just moved up to the teen ministry and she LOVES it. They have contemporary worship and Christian based rap music. They are imparted with leadership values and really push kids to a higher standard. My daughter is upset to miss church (and she goes at least 3 times a week!).

My little one who is 3 goes to preschool there as well as the nursery and they do worship with the kids and teach them some Bible verses too.

But the BEST part of our church will be for YOU! Our Pastor, Keith Craft ROCKS!!!! He's a solid man of God who is down to earth, straighforward, and will challenge the way you think. We say around here that if you elevate your thinking, you elevate your life! The men in the church are STRONG Christian men who TRULY lead their families. I don't know about your kids' father, but I know when I was a single mom, this is where I wish I was so that my kids had strong male figures around them.

Check it out online at www.celebrationcovenant.com. You can watch some of the previous services to see if the message speaks to you.

Good luck to you!
M.

Hi S.,
I think 75001 is Addison right? Our church is in Plano but its near Preston and Legacy which is just up the Tollway from there... Christ Church in Plano. I am actually on staff there in the Children's Ministry department and we have a wonderful program for little ones, as well as a special GAP program for tweens and a separate Youth program for the teenagers that my older son really loved (he has now graduated high school). Before we became members many years ago we were trying out different churches and though my husband and I really loved the service at Christ Church, what sealed the deal was our oldest son absolutely loving the program and other kids there. He was in 6th grade at the time and we were just so happy to not ever have to fight to get him up on Sunday mornings - he WANTED to go! Since then we have another son who has gone through the nursery from birth and is now in the preschool program - and it has been wonderful. The staff is very loving with the little ones and I felt completely at ease (and now I get to work there too!) I invite you to come check it out, we would just love to have you and your sweet family there! Sunday services are at 9:15am and 11am. Sunday school for all age groups is at 9:15 and Children's Church is offered at 11am in the Children's Praise Center.

Christ Church

Blessings to you and I hope you find a special place for your family to worship! A.

If you would like a more charismatic church, Covenant Church on Trinity Mills is very good. www.covenantchurch.org

Bent Tree Bible Fellowship www.btbf.org is also awesome.

Both are in Carrollton - though Covenant is further south.

You might consider Grace Outreach Center at Parker and Preston. They have an incredible youth and children's ministry. It is non-denom and contemporary. The best thing is that the adult service is equally inspriring. Pastor Gerald Brooks is a fantastic speaker.

Also, I have heard great things about Covenant Church in Carrollton.
