I attend Grace Outreach Center in West Plano. Very diverse Congregation & Nondenominational. Visit www.graceoutreachcenter.org
Dear Mamas,
I have a close friend who is Caucasian. She and her Caucasian husband adopted a full African American daughter. They love the church that they attend, but there is a very small number of AA members in the congregation. They would like to find a church where their family can establish friendships with other families of color, and where their daughter can go to Sunday school and Vacation Bible School with other children who look like her. Can anyone recommend such a church? If so, please let me know the name of the church, the style/denomination of worship, what you like about it, diversity of the congregation, any information that would be helpful as they search.
Thank you so much!

Our church is a smaller, nondenominational church that meets at Clark High School in W. Plano. We are quite ethnically diverse...our pastor his caucasian, but one of our elders (we have 2) is African American. We have several African American families, a few Hispanic families, etc. Our children's areas are obviously ethnically diverse as well. We attend Citipointe Church - ###-###-####. Our website is a work in progress at this point (so please don't judge us by it LOL), but you can visit us at www.citipointe.org. Please feel free to email me for more info - ____@____.com.
Hi A.! My church is awesome! It's in Carrollton, not too far from Plano. They are multicultural and so loving. My husband and I feel so at home there. He's Caucasian and I'm African American and we have a bi-racial son. Our church is Covenant Church located on Trinity Mills www.covenantchurch.org. Encourage your friends to check it out if they haven't found a church home yet. It's amazing!
Hope this helped and God Bless!

My husband is Latino and i am black, so we also prefer attending diverse churches. We are members of the Potter's House in Dallas, which is wonderfully diverse and the word that is taught there is excellent, but it is a bit far away. We also regularly attend North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship church( http://www.ndcbf.org/ ) which is in Richardson, right off of Hwy 75 at Spring Valley. We have been attending marital enrichment classes there, and the people there are great. It is largely African-American, but also very diverse. We feel very comfortable there. I'm even going to start volunteering in their Children's Ministry soon. I think they are non-denominational, but it feels a lot like a Baptist church.
Your friend may wish to try Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church which is very diverse....Although primarily African American, there are a number of Caucasians, Hispanics, etc., who are members of this church. The pastor truly believes in the young people and Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. There is a youth pastor who is very involved with the youth of the church. Every 4th sunday is youth sunday where the service is geared toward the youth. There is an 8a.m. worship service; 9:30a sunday school; and a 10:45a.m. worship service. The youth have their own service as well as their own sunday school classes for various age groups. This pastor, Dr. Wallace, continues to encourage his members and has baptized hundreds of non-AA members over the 20 years he has been pastor.
There is a great church in Allen, Tx called The Summit Church.
You can find it by either going to www.TheSummit.tv or ChurchAtTheSummit.com
It is a diverse congregation that teaches the Bible, has contemporary worship and is very diverse ethnically. The Pastor is African American, his wife is White. He has gone to school in Africa and Central America. I think you will like it!!
