Hi Moms and Families,
My family and I are relocating to the Appleton area, which means "starting over" in many ways. We are interested in learning more about the community's medical resources. It would be helpful if you could share who you believe is among the best pediatricians, OBGYN's, dentists, and hospital(s). We have a 1 year old and plan to become pregnant again in the near future. Thanks for your feedback!

We take the kids to the Affinity on Deerwood Ave in Neenah. We see Dr Gentile, and he is very good. He makes the kids feel very comfortable, he is down to earth with us, explains things/answers questions well and everyone in the building from reception to nurses to lab is very nice. Affinity has a Children's Health Center in the same building as St Elizabeth Hospital, and the doctors there are good, also. We have taken our daughter there on the weekends, because Deerwood doesn't have weekend hours.
I wasn't happy with the ob/gyn practice at St Elizabeth, so I switched to Dr Reinardy out of Oshkosh. He comes to the same Deerwood clinic where we take the kids, and he is excellent. He is very thorough in his explanations of everything, and is very friendly also. I don't agree with his views on birth control and family planning (I am Catholic and practice natural family planning.), but he doesn't push you to do anything you don't want or criticize your decisions. His main office is at the Creekside clinic at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Mercy also has wonderful midwives, if you are interested in that. I have seen Deb Zelhofer (she also comes to Deerwood) and she is awesome!

We're still shopping around for a family dentist, so I'll be interested to see what others post here for you about that. I can tell you I didn't like Dental Associates, although they offer their own supplemental insurance coverage which really cut down on the costs. However, I felt like cattle being prodded from one chair to the next during my appointment.

My OB is Dr. Ernesto Acosta with Women's Health Specialist. He's awesome!

We also go to Dr. John Edwards at ThedaCare off of Evergreen. I love the entire practice and they have weekend hours, which means no ER visits unless it's really necessary during the night! Just my two cents! Good luck and welcome to Appleton!

My children both see Dr Todd Mckenzie, Thedacare Pediatric Office in Neenah.

I personally see Tina Ramsey, OBGYN, who is part of the Women's Health Specialists group. She is located in the medical building next to Theda Clark hospital.

The dentist that we go to is Midwest Dental Group in Kimberly. They have some new dentists there and my family and I really enjoy them.

Welcome & Good Luck!

Hi N.,
My two boys see Dr. Todd Mckenzie at the the Theda Clark clinic in Neenah and he's wonderful. My boys have also seen Dr. Edwards on Evergreen and he's a great doctor too. My husband and I have been extremely happy with the health care experience in Appleton. I also highly recommend Dr. Jeffrey Cherney as an OBGYN at Appleton Medical center. He is in the same practice as Dr. Acosta and he is absolutely awesome. All of these doctors are very personable and extremely knowledgeable. Good luck!
